Yet another day at Camp Half-Blood dawned, and Shannon expected the same as the one before. As usual, the seven demigods would strut out of their cabins, the rest of the camp following them like puppies, and as usual, she would stay out of their way.

See, children of minor gods and goddesses weren't really noticed by the seven, and honestly, Shannon couldn't care less. Being popular wasn't something she strived to be.

When the breakfast horn sounded, Shannon started her usual routine: get up, get dressed, and settle down at the Nike table where no one would pay attention to you. She didn't even have to look up from her plate to see the resentful looks her siblings were giving the popular demigods.

Children of Nike were never really special. None of them were exceptionally good at fighting, or arts and crafts, or beauty, or… well, all of the above. The only thing they were good for was in Capture the Flag, where the captains hoped that the Goddess of Victory would smile upon their team if they chose the Nike cabin. Shannon could run fast though- which wasn't much of an accomplishment. They were about as useful as the Aphrodite cabin, just less good looking and fashionable.

So when the events of today played out, Shannon was a bit more than surprised. Okay, a lot more.

She got up from the breakfast table and went into the woods, trying to wake herself up. It worked, as she was attacked by a random… something five minutes in. Just as she killed it and it exploded into dust, Shannon felt a presence behind her. She spun around, expecting a monster. Swinging her sword, she was met with the face of… Leo Valdez?

Shannon quickly lowered her sword and mumbled an apology, before slowly turning and attempting to run off. "Wait," She stopped in her tracks. 'Just obey him, right Shannon, great idea.' "Uh…" Leo ruffled the back of his hair. And… was he blushing? You're Shannon right? Shannon La Clair?" She nodded quickly, hoping to leave immediately.

He looked down at his sneakers, confident personality gone. "Do you want to, like… hang out sometime?" It took a lot of willpower for her jaw not to drop right there. This didn't really happen to children of Nike.

Shannon waited a minute before smiling sweetly, "I'd love to," Then she walked away, exaggerating the swing of her hips a bit, the image of Leo blushing fiercely when she accepted burned into her memory. So this was being noticed.
