There was a knock on the door. "Sharon? Are you up?" Rusty called from the other side of Sharon' s bedroom door. "It's like… 8 o'clock." He paused for a moment then decided maybe he should enter to make sure everything was all right. He had that way about him, worrying about her. He felt obligated to look out for her since she was the only person who actually seemed to genuinely care about him. After all, she was the one who took him in without any objections. He opened the door slightly and saw slight movement on the bed. Is she seriously still sleeping? That's it Rusty thought as he pushed open the door to shake Sharon out of her dreams. Nothing could have prepared him for what he was about to witness.

He stopped abruptly in his tracks, frozen. After he regained control of his body and turned to head for the door, he heard a gasp behind him. Damn it he thought as he awkwardly turned back around. Sharon leapt up into the sitting position and pulled her blanket tightly around her. This made the other woman next to her jump up as well. Rusty, wanting desperately to get out of this… situation mumbled, "I was just gonna wake you. I... should go finish getting ready for school. Maybe I should just take the bus or some-"

"-Rusty," Sharon interjected, her face now completely flushed. "Give me 10 minutes to-uh-to get dressed. I'll drop you to school." Rusty didn't even bother to argue; he just wanted-needed- to get out of there fast. Just when things were looing normal between Sharon and him, he had to witness this.

As the door shut behind him, Sharon buried her face in her hands. Her blonde counterpart couldn't help but chuckle.

"Are you seriously making this a big deal, Sharon? Is it the first time you were walked in on?" Sharon gave the other woman her signature glare, to which she surrendered. "Okay, okay. But it's not like we were doing anything for him to be grossed out about." Sharon finally spoke up.

"I still wanted to tell him about us myself instead of him finding you in my bed in the morning. What do you think he would think?"

"Shar-"

"-He may have changed a lot since I took him in but it doesn't change his past. I don't want him to think… I don't want him-"

"What, thinking you'll do like his mother and run off with one of your girlfriends? Sharon, is there something you're not telling me?" Sharon gently pushed the other woman by her shoulders.

"Don't flatter yourself," she replied dryly. They sat in silence for a little before Sharon's phone rang startling them both.

"Good morning, Lieutenant," Sharon answered as she left for the bathroom. Her lover's eyes trailed her naked form until she was out of sight. She sighed when her phone decided to ring. She rolled over and picked up her phone from her clothes piled by the bed and answered it.

"Hobbs."
