Prologue- Hoenn

Hoenn. A region of beauty. One example lies on Route 103. There is a small pond, with pokemon's tails just visible as they scuttle away into the lush green plants. A single dew drop slips off of a leaf and lands in the pond. If you looked up from here, though, you would see two great mountains, red with heat. Then, you might see the mighty Latias zip by through the air, right over your head as the song of nature plays around you.

Imagine what Latias would see. The single mountain in the center of Hoenn. Forests, beach, islands, craters, deserts, and beautiful deep blue ocean. A young boy, maybe ten or eleven riding his bike along a trail. If only he looked up, he would see the beautiful, red dragon. And yet he pushes on.

Latias sees many pokemon. Sharpedos, Camerupts, and remembers a time long ago when this wouldn't be possible, because the land would be either flooded, or dry as a desert, due to Groudon and Kyogre's constant war with one another. It continues and sees Sceptiles, Swamperts, and Blazikens. The beauty of Hoenn is apparent through Latias's eyes.

But even without Latias's perspective, there is more. There are ancient murals, painted on stone in a cave on Dewford Island. The mural shows a great clash between Kyogre and Groudon before the great sky serpent, Rayquaza, intervened.

Yes, there is beauty, but there is also evil in Hoenn, evil that would wish to bring Kyogre's power over water to a dangerous level. And all they would need, is a powerful, blue orb. Luckily, though, Kyogre is locked away, deep underground, where it can't cause any damage, for now.
