Disclaimer: I don't own FMA or any of the characters. It belongs to Hiromu Arakawa. (I do own a copy of books 9, 10, 11, and 13 and a box set of the first season and disc 5.)

Edward Elric. An unconventional name for a girl, but somehow suited her perfectly. She had long, golden blonde hair and perfectly matching eyes. She was built very masculine, but again it seemed appropriate. She had broad, square shoulders and no figure. She was strong, both mentally and physically, and very fast. Both she and her younger sister, Ali, were trained in martial arts and, of course, alchemy by an expert.

I can't say for sure when I first realized I was in love with her. I'd have to say it was sometime between the time she first joined the military at the age of twelve to when she disappeared when she was sixteen. (Which, when I think about it, doesn't really narrow anything down.) She was short for her age with a wild temper. Something about her made me want to tease her. She was a talented alchemist from a young age and only continued to become better.

~Chuckle~ I remember the year she wanted to have an alchemist's battle versus yours truly for her State Alchemist's exam. That was a very interesting experience. We tore up the entire parade grounds and injured I don't know how many spectators. I guess it's no surprise she won, but only because the Fuhrer stopped us. Anyway, after that, we were both forced to clean up the wreckage.

Heh. If I'm remembering correctly, the terms of the fight were if I lost, I had to keep one of the hundreds of stray cats Ali had picked up. I guess Edward made her put it back or something, considering the fight was a draw.

~Sigh~ She's been gone for two years. I believe she's alive. I always will unless someone brings me concrete evidence that she is…. Well, that's not something I want to think about. I know she'll come back one day. I just have to keep waiting. And when she does come back, I'll be waiting for her here, in this frozen wasteland I've exiled myself to. I eagerly await the day she comes back to me.

A/N: I don't know where this came from. It just… wrote itself. (Those are sometimes the best, I've found.) I hope you like it. As always, read and review. (I had a special font for this story. Unfortunately, they didn't save the font. If anyone wants to see it, send me a message with an email or other way of contact and I'll send it to you.)
