Author's Note: Yo, guys. Sorry for not giving a story in a while. Writer's block hit me like a truck. ANYWAY! This is the start of a new story I just planned out, and I wrote this chapter as I created it in my mind. I hope you do enjoy this. Reviews are welcomed. Oh yeah, and you'll see the meaning to the story's name as it goes on.

6:00 AM in the morning. The sun has just barely begun to rise up for the day. It's a weekend, so that means it's an off day for the students at the various Combat Academies around Remnant, something which they deserve after working so hard. The main academy the focus is on is known as Beacon, which is one of the prestigious academies of Remnant. It's every man and woman's dream to go and attend this wonderful academy and graduate from it. Considering the early time, rarely anyone is awake, wanting to get as much sleep as possible.

Shifting the view to one of the dorms, we see that there are four girls still asleep. One has black hair with streaks of red. Below her is another that has platinum-white hair. Across from that one, we see another one with pure black hair that is decorated with a bow, which twitches a bit once in a while for some odd reason. Above her, we see the last girl, who has golden-blonde hair. They're all sleeping soundly, save for one girl, which was the one with the red streaks in her hair.

Almost as if in a nightmare, she shifts around in her sleep slightly, mumbling and giving a rather quiet whimper. This continues on for a little while until her eyes shoot open and she quickly sits up, panting. Fortunately, she didn't break out into a cold sweat as most would when having a nightmare, but it was still a rather bad one. Also, did I forget to mention that her eyes were silver? I did? Well, now you know. Anyway! She calms down after a little while, then looks around to make sure she didn't wake the others. They simply stayed still, sleeping quietly, and she gave a sigh of relief before quietly hopping down, her feet making little to no sounds. Shen then grabbed her clothing and went to change in the bathroom, coming back out a few minutes later. The first thing she did was grab her signature red cloak that was complete with a hood, pinning it on. She then grabbed her scroll and placed it in the pouch on her belt, then grabbed her weapon that was still in its compact form, latching it to the magnetic plate on her back. Quietly, she left the room.

After hopping on an airship towards the city, she arrives at the park, taking a walk around, quietly humming to herself, munching on a cookie. The nightmare was still sort of fresh on her mind, causing her to sigh as she sat down on a bench with a sad look in her eyes. The thing about her is that 10 years ago, she lost two people special to her… One of them was her mother. However, that isn't what the nightmare was about. It was about the other person, her twin brother. The same day her mother died, her brother left the house and never came back. She sighed yet again, a tear crawling down her cheek as she gently wiped it away with her finger, then proceeded to look around the park. Her eyes scanning the place, something, or someone, caught her eye. On one side of the pond was a person laying down their back, arms behind their head. At first she, didn't want to go and bother them, but her curiosity got the better of her. She got up and began to walk over to the person.

As she got closer, she began to note some features of that person. The first thing was that the person looked like a boy, and that his face had the same shape as hers. Another thing she noted was very similar hairstyle and color, black with red streaks. One final thing she noted was the red cloak that was complete with a hood… This got the girl's curiosity completely as she looked at the boy, thoughts racing through her mind.

"He looks like… No, it can't be…" She thought to herself as she took a step closer, but the familiar sound of a twig breaking underneath her foot registered in her ears, and apparently, the boy's ears as well. That was enough to wake him up, as he slowly opened his eyes. The girl went to take a step back, but tripped and landed on her back, before quickly sitting up as she sighed a bit and opened her eyes, only to be met with the boy sitting up, his silver eyes looking at her as he tilted his head a bit.

The girl gulped a bit, her eyes wide, but then spoke, her voice somewhat quiet with a hint of shock to it. "G…Garnet…?"
