The impatient Gallifreyean banged on the door, eager to see his friend. "Koscheiiii" He whined, simply not liking the silence that plagued the academy. He was met with nothing but his own impatient voice as he continued to bang away on the locked door. "Go away Theta…" The young boy was excited to hear his friends voice break the silence, but that being the only thing, it was easy to pick out small details like how it seemed to waver, quite unlike him.

"Koschei…?" He asked, voice suddenly dripping with serious concern, the playful eagerness put aside. He pulled out the convenient gadget that whirred when he shakily pressed the odd object to the door, causing it to click open with a whir. He had forgotten about the old thing he had "borrowed", and gladly used it to gain access to his friend.

He gasped when he was met with the brunette sitting on the floor, knees tucked to his chin with wetness greeting his reddened cheeks. His gaze was averted away from the door in which the other had entered, but was to afraid to look at him when the door clicked open.

"Koschei," Theta walked over to his friend in a hurry, now deeply afraid for the other. "What's wrong?" The child looked up, sniffling and wiping his eyes that almost seemed to glow. He tried to compose himself and be brave, but he only began to sob, the everlasting beat growing louder in his head. It hurt, the thumping that was growing in intensity. The clouded haze and the sharp metallic beats that pierced through it, blocked out the sound of his friend, shouting with worry that caused him to shake.

"Please, please tell me what's wrong, I can help you Koschei, please." He squeaked out, voice now just as broken. The brokenness of his best friends voice was just enough to break through briefly. "T-the drumming-the drumming it just won't stop…" He sobbed, gasps futile against the beats.

He tried to backtrack, the concentration being endlessly broken by his friends cry's. "The schism…" He thought, voice seeming to echo off of the bare walls. He had never had time to think of just how much like a prison this place was. "He's gone mad…!" He embraced his friend, the other staying in the same position, but leaning in to the comfort. The boy stroked the others hair, fingers flying through easily unlike with his own light curls. "T-theta…." He sobbed, gasping for breaths that were submerged in the hiccups. He felt like he was drowning.

Theta began to sing quietly, soft voice calming the other who relaxed a bit, the drums quieting down more as he leaned into him. The soft hums were in the ancient language they sometimes spoke, so with the rareness of it's use, it was hard to make out, but he only focused on the syllables that were sung out.

The drums were almost completely dissipated now, and he was feeling quite tired. Theta ended the song with a small phrase of 'listen closely, for our worlds will collide someday.' A term for dear love he hoped to experience one day.

"That was beautiful." He praised, eyes half lidded but a small smile on his face. The Gallifreyean flushed a bit at the statement. "Thank…I…I uh sing it to myself when I miss my family, my mother taught it to me." Koschei snorted quietly, nuzzling into the other, hoping dearly for this moment to last.

Maybe the true love he had wished for wasn't so far away after all.
