The Mighty Saladin
The most overlooked character in the 39 Clues series: He's got more than one big secret. How—and why—our favorite cat won the race for the 39 Clues. Journal of a Cat redone.

Somewhere over the Atlantic, in a cramped pet carrier in the cargo hold of an Airbus 330-200
This has gone on for much, much too long. Amy and Dan, my caretakers—or should I say captors?—think that all I care about is food. I mean really. Come on. I know exactly what the Clues, when added together, will give to the finder. It doesn't take much thinking. The traits of the four branches—creativity, intelligence, strength, and stealth—added together equal…the powers that every single cat has already. And those are the powers that the finders of the 39 Clues will posses. It cannot be allowed to happen. If a human finds out the secrets of felis catus, it will spell the end of the world. Cats are wise, and know how to use their powers. Humans will use them for selfish, stupid reasons: warfare/world domination, destroying of the natural world, revenge… there's no end to what humans would come up with.
Yes, I know, there are humans out there who would use this power for good. But it wouldn't take long for them to go bad. Power corrupts even the best of people. (Cats are resistant to this, you see). Which is why even Amy and Dan must not get the 39 Clues.
Bit of a letdown for them, really, after all of this work.
SALADIN
A note from the author: I kind of gave up on getting this finished for the 39 Diaries contest, so don't vote for it. Also: sorry about the short chapter. They'll get longer when I think of a plot…
