A Muggle Ghost Talking Machine Thing
"What the bloody hell is a Ouija Board?" James S. Potter asked in confusion. He, his cousins, Hugo and Rose, and his siblings, Lily and Albus, had just snuck out of Hogwarts using his dad's Invisibility Cloak…except it only covered three of them, so they'd had to make two trips.
"Some kind of Muggle-Ghost-Talking-Machine-Thing." Hugo shrugged as he and the others sat down on the floor of the Forbidden Forest. Rose laid down the board in front of her.
"It lets you talk to ghosts, it's not a machine." Rose said, rolling her eyes. "Don't you pay attention, Hugo?"
James shook his head and muttered quietly to himself, "Can't believe we're missing the Halloween Feast for this."
"When are we ever going to need to know those Muggle things that Mum teaches us?" Hugo retorted, "I swear, there's no point in learning all these useless facts when we'll never live in the Muggle world."
Albus cut off his cousins' bickering, "Wait a minute. Why do we have to use this…this Ouija Board when we can just go back to the school and talk to Nearly Headless Nick or the Bloody Baron…or even Peeves?"
The others were silent.
"There's a reason you're the smart one, Al." James said happily, standing up. "Guess this means we're not missing the feast!"
