"What happened to him?" Sam whispers.

"I wish I knew," Bobby sighs, resting a hand on the younger man's shoulder.

"How long have you been here?"

"Long enough to get that head wound to stop bleeding." Bobby waves a hand impotently toward Dean, ignoring the soiled towels littering the floor.

Sam nods vaguely and steps over to where his brother lies.

"He's cold," he mumbles, laying a hand on Dean's forehead, feeling the cool skin beneath his fingers.

"Hey," Bobby interjects. "We got here in time. He'll be fine. He's a tough one."

Sam smiles weakly.

He already knows that.
