"Pafff."

"No, Harry. Say Pa-"

"Pa."

"Duh-"

"Duh!"

"Foo-"

"Foo."

"The-"

"Teh!"

"Now put it all together!"

"Pfffft!"

"Damn it."

"Dahm."

Sirius widened his eyes. "No, Harry. Padfoot!"

"Pffffft!"

"Ugh…"

"Sirius, he's too young."

Sirius grinned, pulling his wand out and conjuring up little bulbs of light, sending them soaring together around his godson who giggled uncontrollably before falling back on his pillow. "C'mon, you gotta have better balance than that. How are you ever going to play professional Quidditch?"

"I see you have our son's future planned out, Sirius?"

"'Course, Evans! See, he's going to be a big shot in school, like his dad and uncle Sirius. He'll be Quidditch captain, and Head-Boy, and prefect like his uncle Moony. He'll be brilliant at all his classes, and like… the perfect guy. Then when he graduates, he'll become a professional Quidditch player, in which he plays until he decides he wants to be Headmaster or Minister of Magic." He explained with a shrug.

She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "It's Lily, Sirius."

"Yeah, whatever you say, Evans." He brushed off, pulling his godson up to hold him into the air, causing him to giggle once more.

He sat Harry down on his pillow to watch him play with his toy wolf. "Padfoot, Padfoot, Padfoot, Padfoot!" He chanted, being ignored by Harry who found the wolf that was charmed to bark at him much more interesting.

"James, what's wrong?" Lily asked as he entered, looking paler than usual.

"I just got off the floo… There was an attack."

"Oh no… Who?"

"McKinnons. All of 'em are…" He trailed off.

"No…" Lily gasped, hurrying into the other room where the floo was.

"Sirius… Marlene…"

"Yeah I heard…" Sirius whispered.

"I should go check on Lily… You're—"

"Yeah. Go on."

James nodded and left the room, leaving Sirius and Harry. Harry threw the wolf and glanced up at Sirius, pouting before reaching up and touching his now wet cheek. "Sah."

Sirius sniffled, pushing Harry's hair back and forcing a smile. "N-no." He croaked, leaning over and pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Oi, let's play on your toy broomstick, 'eh?

"Papapapapa."

Sirius reached his hand out, accioing the small broom to his hand. "See if we can… we can scare that cat out of here, 'eh?"

"Sah!" Harry declared, climbing into Sirius' lap and hugging him to make him feel better.

Sirius dropped the broom and sniffled, wiping his cheeks off. "Yeah, sad."

"Pahfffffoot."

Sirius smiled, wrapping his arms around his godson. "That's right. Padfoot."

"Pahffffot sah."

Sirius closed his eyes tightly, holding his godson close to his chest and murmuring into the mop of black hair.
