Her Baby

All writes go to JK of course

She could remember when Ron was born, how little he was. He was happy, adorable, and anytime you were in the same room as him, you had to go over and look at him for a few minutes cause he could have been one of the cutest things in her life. Him being her son, of course she thought these things. She knows how your own child could have an effect on you, heck she had 7 of them. The feeling was pretty much the same for all of them, but Ron had a different vibe, he could put a smile on anyones face without even trying.

She can tell that hasn't changed, because when she sees him look down at his own baby her heart melts a little, because that baby is smiling right back at him. She knows how he is feeling, the amazement that comes over you when you can make your baby smile is unbelievable.

He picks her little 6 month old body up and rocks her close to him, like she is the most precious thing in the world, because to him, he is holding his life in his arms. And when she reaches her tiny hand up to touch his cheek, he looks as if he would explode with happiness. He kisses her hand gently before shifting her into his other arm so he can take that little hand that is part of him in his own large one.

She watches him, as he bounces his baby girl around the living room that he had grown up in, and it almost seems serial to think that 24 years ago she had done the same thing with him. He fixes her little pink hat that is slipping off her head, and in response, his baby curls closer into his shoulder.

Ron had never looked happier in his life than in that moment in her opinion. That happiness was not displayed when he received his Hogwarts letter, or when he rode a broom for the first time, and not even when he went to see a Chuddley cannons game, because this kind of happiness can only be accessed when you hold one of the most important things in your life in your arms.

Whenever Ron and Hermione brought Rose over to the Burrow, she had always been fascinated and heart warmed when she watched Ron play or hold his daughter. She want to breakdown and cry sometime when he calls his little baby "sweetheart" or "princess" because when Ron grew up he put love in his back pocket because to him expressing his feeling was the hardest thing. This had changed when he had gotten together with Hermione though because he then began to call her those things as well. As much as it surprised everyone, he didn't care, because when Ron loves something he doesn't let anything get in the way of him keeping it forever.

That is why when ever Rose cries during dinner, Ron always takes her and goes in the other room because he relishes in those quiet moments he spends with his baby. When she watches Ron feed, dress or change Rose, she gets this wave of maturity from her son because she knows that when he was a kid the thought of that disgusted him.

Her husband then walks into the kitchen to catch her watching their son care for his baby, and he just wraps an arm around her and watches too. She feels like a goal has been reached in her life as she watches her baby take care of his baby.
