((An anon on Tumblr asked for some Gamkar. They got this instead.))

"How! Gamzee… How the fuck could you do this!" Karkat howled at his moirail, blood staining him. The purple-blooded troll simply smiled back, a honk escaping from his gaping mouth. The perpetually annoyed troll growled and strode up to Gamzee, bringing his hand crashing against the troll's face. "FUCKING ANSWER ME." Gamzee's head lingered in the position the slap left it in. "Now why…. you gotta motherfuckin' do that." His head twisted back into position, a popping sound crunching into the air.

"Karks, you're my palemate. Right?" The clown spoke in a sing song sort of tone. "Y'just gotta trust me."

"Did you just call me-"

Gamzee filled the air with laughter, eerie haunting laughter. The others could only summon the courage to simply watch the exchange.

"I did, Karks. Just gotta go with the fuckin' flow, man. That's what I wanna talk to you about." He clamped a blood soaked hand on his palemate's shoulder, grinning at the fear in his eyes. "I wantcha on my side, man. We work together, be unfuckinstoppable." A series of honks emitted from him, and Karkat gave him a painful look. "Gamzee… I… I can't. Not after all you've done. Please, don't do this."

For once, Karkat saw Gamzee frown. And it was heartbreaking. "Well, I'm sorry to hear that, bud. I mean…. I didn't wanna have to kill you, but I will if I have to." The air escaped Karkat's lungs. His palemate… He wouldn't kill him, would he? The troll peered over at his friends, doubt rising. When his eyes locked on Terezi… It was like she knew what he was planning, and nodded her understanding. "Fine. I'll join." He looked Gamzee, his moirail, in the eye and gripped his sickle tight. "What's next?"

Gamzee nearly fell to the ground laughing, honks mixing with it. "It's time for the dark carnival, motherfuckers!" A brightly-colored hammer appeared in his hands and the murderous troll stepped forward towards those who were once his friends.

Karkat watched him, taking deep breathes to steel his nerves. He knew what he needed to do. He stepped closer to Gamzee, raising his sickle.

And he silenced the bard.

The others left to contemplate the events, leaving Karkat alone. Alone to judge himself. To blame himself. But most of all;

To grieve the loss of his moirail.
