Jealousy. The emotion ripped through her body like a red hot knife. Every time they held hands, every time they smiled at each other, every time they kissed, another hole tore open in her heart. She wasn't sure how much longer she could take it. Every day she was reminded of all the reasons why she couldn't have the one thing that would make her so very happy. She was reminded that the one person she loved more than anyone else in the entire world would never feel the same about her.
You see, when Nina arrived at Anubis House and got together with Fabian, Joy found herself being thrust into a love triangle, more complex than some may think. Most assumed it was Fabian she was after, and at first that was very much true, she had lusted over him since the second the two had met. However, as time passed she found herself drawn more and more to the blonde-haired, blue-eyed Nina Martin. She didn't know what exactly it was about the girl that made every inch of her skin tingle, but the feeling seemed to grow stronger every day. Occasionally she would convince herself that it was possible, that Nina might, someday, love her back. But all too quickly she was again reminded of all the reasons why that would never happen. This process would then repeat itself every so often, leaving Joy in a state of constant heartache.
Jealousy. An emotion much too familiar to our friend. It ate and ate at her until there was nothing left except the icy skeleton of the girl that was once Joy Mercer.
