I voice my thoughts

"But how?" I ask
' Save the world' It says again. Fading into the black nothingness that surrounds me.
I am alone now
No voice, no friends
No flock
I am alone now
Forever floating in a sea of darkness
"Max!" I hear
"Max!" I hear again
Is it the voice?
Has it returned?
"Max!"
No, this voice is different.
This voice is soothing, comforting.
I know this voice.
It is so familiar.
Who is it?
A light
A blinding light
I shield my eyes from the harsh intruder
"MAX!"
I know this voice!
It's Fang
My eyes snap open
I hear a sigh of relief
A face comes into view
Sleek black hair
Piercing blue eyes
"Fang?" I question
"Thank God." He replies
"Are you ok?"
I look at him strangely
"You were having a bad dream." he replied
I look at the sleeping figures
Perched on the branches around me
A blind genius
A unique eight year old
A hyper young preteen
A scruffy haired pyromaniac
And a little black Scottie dog
I sigh
It was all a dream
I feel an arm around my shoulder
I look
It's Fang
And suddenly I'm not alone
