AN: My first J/D, it's kinda not that racey. I like it... hope you do too, feedback please.
"Daniel?"
He had disappeared again although Jack had no idea how he managed to do just that every time they went off world. He would either literally disappear or just seem as if he has, this time it was physical and not mental. Jack had stepped into the temple where he had left Daniel and there was no sign of his friend. Had this been the first time Jack would have been a little nervous, coming to conclusions that he would rather not think about.
"Daniel?"
This time he talks into his radio, hoping this wouldn't be one of the times that Daniel had turned it off.
"Yeah Jack?"
Jack obviously loosened up a little with his best friends voice as it came back through the radio.
"Where are you?"
Daniel isn't too far away, Jack hears him as he drops one of his tools on the floor. As Jack moves toward the sound Daniel walks out the small opening. He waves as if he is meeting Jack at a restaurant or an airport.
"Whatcha find?"
The look on Daniel's face and his overall demeanor told Jack, could have told anyone, that something was written on those walls, something Daniel thought was really important. As he walks into the room behind Daniel he rolls his eyes and automatically checks his watch.
"Ah... Carter, Teal'c."
He says into the radio, ten minutes is not going to be enough time to get Daniel out of here, not even wild horses could pull him away from his find.
"Yes sir?"
"Get a hold of Hammond, tell him we're going to need more time, say 'bout four hours"
"For what reason O'Neill?"
Teal'c used a radio for once in his life, it was very rare that Teal'c felt the need to push that little black box on his vest.
"Daniel found more... stuff."
"Yes sir."
Jack looks around the room and sits down on the first 'chair' he sees. As he waits for the conformation, or rather the agreement, he watches Daniel tape the rest of the room and pack a few of the tablets he found into his pack.
"Sir?"
Jack gets jerked out of his peaceful sleep by a voice coming from his vest that he had placed on the floor.
"Damnit."
Daniel laughs at Jack a little and than removes his head from his chest so he can get up to respond to his 2IC.
"Yeah Carter?"
"Just wanted to remind you Hammond expects us back in ten minutes sir and it takes five to get to the 'gate."
Daniel looks up at Jack, a smile growing on his face that brakes all of Jack's bad moods. It loosens him up more than most things.
"Be there soon Carter."
He grabs his pants that lay on the floor next to his pack and starts to get dressed, back into his Air Force BDU's.
"Catch."
Jack throws Daniel's pants to him, he lets them land in his lap and finally gets up slowly, wishing hard that they had a few more hours.
"Ready Daniel?"
Jack helps Daniel place his full pack on his back and Daniel smiles at Jack again.
"Always ready for you Jack."
Jack laughs and takes his loves hand. As they walk to the 'gate they seem as if they are a pair of love birds strolling through the park rather than two people walking on another planet. They both knew the second they got back in eye sight of the 'gate they would have to release their hands and there would be no touching. At least until they got home.
