Being alone was never easy. Being alone for several centuries could be maddening. Even then, you end up reaching the point when you find yourself in a state of being insanely sane.

Kirakishou had reached this point. This point of being completely aware of herself, of what she was allowed to do, yet also being in no control of herself as she performs actions she quite blatantly knows she isn't allowed to do.

She knew she wasn't allowed to take Souseiseki's body to the unwound world, and she knew she wasn't allowed use it for her own gains. The referee has made this clear to her. But she'd ignored the rules.

Because in this game between her and her sisters, anything could happen. The rules could be bent, broken, ignored or followed. Anything and anyone were fair game. The referee may make the rules, but that doesn't mean the sisters have to follow them. Nor does it mean he necessarily has to enforce them. In fact, the old rabbit prefers to simply watch the game unfold. Rarely will he intervene, insist on the rules being followed.

Only in certain situations will he do so. And in those situations, even he will bend the rules. So they worked to the advantage of the youngest sister.

He was in a similar position as Kirakishou. Centuries without company, of simply being an observer and never a participant, like the white rose, had driven him to the same point as her; he too was truly insane, yet he still functioned sanely.

This mutual feeling had led to a mutual agreement between the two. You could almost say they had a close relationship. But no-one could really say if it were a relationship at all. And if it were, no-one knew what to class it as.

Nevertheless, they were acquaintances at the very least, if only to label their connection. Kirakishou valued his company, even if both prefered to remain silent when together. If one had something to say, they'd say it. And she had something to say.

"Father is almost finished. I only have to wait a little sooner." Normally, if someone said something, the other would acknowledge the news and then the N-field would remain silent. But this was different.

"Very good. I'd say the game is coming a close soon. This will certainly turn the tables toward an advantage." His wording made the doll curious.

"An advantage? You don't think it will be for me?"

"I didn't say that. I'm merely speculating. An advantage will certainly be had for someone. There is a large chance that it will be for yourself. But we cannot forget that the other sisters also have a small chance." Kirakishou giggled.

"You doubt me. For once, you doubt me." She stood.

"That amuses me." With that, she walked off. The rabbit chuckled himself.

"You are confident. A touch too confident. That highly amuses me."

I haven't written for Rozen Maiden in ages! But, with the new reboot anime coming up on the Fourth of July (Have an early happy Independence Day, Americans! :D) I figured I might as well write a quick wee something.

And considering the new reboot is gonna be based off of the tales edition of the manga, I figured I'd base the story off the manga.

Hope youse enjoyed!
