He sat next to the gravestone, looking at the words etched into the stone. A small vase of flowers rested in front of it, filled with wilting daffodils.

"I miss you".

His voice cut through the silence, quietly, as he dropped his gaze. He rummaged in his pocket and pulled out a small wooden carving of a lizard.

"I made you this."

He placed it next to the flowers and sighed quietly.

It was getting harder to visit her.

Knowing that she couldn't see him, couldn't hear him, couldn't feel the way his head ached for her.

It had all changed.

She never made it that day, after the raptor attack. She was dead before they made it to hospital.

He leant forwards and placed a light kiss on the cold stone.

"I love you Abbie."

Connor stood up, glancing at the carving of Rex before walking away silently, knowing the next time he returned, he would be lying next to his love in the cold, hard earth.
