Chapter 1: A Change For The Better

Kagami and Tsukasa were waiting at the train station when showed Konata.

She was late as usual, Kagami was frustrated but greeted her regularly.

"Yo, Konata. You probably didn't get your math homework done, did you?"

Konata responded in a sad voice, "No, I didn't. Can you please help me get it done during lunch break, I won't have math until after that. Please Kagami?"

A thought ran across Kagami's mind. It was, "Why does she care so much about getting her homework complete?"

But she remembered how she sort of acted like this before, and said, "Oho, I get it! What anime are you referencing this time? Or is this some kind of prank?"

But Konata had said formerly, "No Kagami, I'm serious. I knew that it would help my future, and I had goofed, so I need your help."

Kagami saw that Konata had a serious look on her face and responded, "Ok, but no tricks, got it?"

"No tricks Kagami."

Tsukasa then asked, "Wow, Kona-chan, why the change of attitude?"

Konata sighed and said, "Nothing gets by you guys. Anyway, it had started when-

The train had arrived, and they had to board it.

Kagami wanted to get Konata to continue her story, but her phone rang.

It was her mother and she told Kagami that she forgot her books and her lunch at home.

She looked into her bag and noticed that there were light novels and a CD player in it.

She had a frustrated look on her face and thought "Darn, I guess I was too tired, then again I have been working pretty hard."

Tsukasa asked, "Who was that Sis?

Kagami had told them "It was mom telling me that my books and lunch are at home."

Kagami thought "Konata is probably going to make a wise-ass crack by now."

Instead, Konata had said sympathetically, "Don't worry Kagami, Tsukasa and I can share our notes and lunch. It's the least we can do for all the times you've saved our butts, right Tsukasa?"

Tsukasa with a surprised look on her face after seeing Konata's words nodded and said, "Y-Yeah!"

Kagami, surprised as Tsukasa had nothing to say but "Th-Thanks Konata."
