I stared out my window, to the forest, and beyond. Maybe I could go for a walk, anything just to get out of this house…or escape my Calculus homework. I shook my head at my idiocy. A small part of my mind wondered what Edward could be doing right now, or where Alice and the others were doing…hunting, perhaps. I closed my eyes, deep in thought, before I heard a quiet knock. I skipped down the stairs and sprinted to the door.
"Bella? Open the door, please" Edward's velvet voice said from outside.
My heart swelled as soon as I heard his voice. It was so unbelievably good to hear him. I threw the door open, painting a huge smile on my face, until I looked around, no Edward in sight. My face fell.
"Down here, Bella" Edward said exasperatedly.
My gaze slowly came down until I received a jolt from my body. For there was no Edward, but a glass of milk in his place.
"Edward?" I called out worriedly.
"Bella" Edward sighed. "I'm the glass of milk you see."
The look on my face must have been incredulous, but I picked him up and closed the door behind me, setting him on the kitchen table. I stared at him for a while.
"What happened?" I asked, my voice hoarse.
"I don't know!! Emmett dared me to drink a gallon of milk, and all of a sudden, I saw myself melting!! To save me, Emmett scooped me into a glass, and drove me here. He didn't stay to chat because he thought you might be angry at him," Edward said vehemently.
"And what were to happen if I were to drink you?"
Edward made an angry noise.
"Perhaps we should take you to Carlisle."
"Yes, yes, now, please. I simply cannot stay a glass of milk forever."
I drove us in my noisy truck, keeping Edward safe by putting him in between my legs, all the way to the hospital.
"Carlisle! I need to speak to you, it's urgent", I said importantly.
Carlisle looked up from his desk, and at the glass of milk I was holding. He looked bemused.
"Uhh?" he said, almost inaudibly to my human ears.
Edward quickly explained what happened, and Carlisle shook his head.
"Bella, perhaps you should spit on him", Carlisle said after a short pause.
"I'm sorry, excuse me?"
"Or a vampire should. Your human DNA (or a vampire's DNA) will cause the milk to imitate you (or the vampire) and send Edward either as a human or a vampire. The process should take no longer than a day", said Carlisle, looking wary.
I had no problem with following him. The real problem was, would I want Edward to be human with me or become a vampire again?
Author's Note: I had this idea before, and I wrote it down and whatever, but then my mom came home and I accidentally closed it. So it didn't get saved. So now this copy reeks. ANYWAY; tell me what you think Bella should choose! A human Edward or a vampire Edward?
