Beach Day: An Old-Rival-Shipping Story

One hot, sunny day, Leaf Green was sitting in her room, totally bored. She had tried calling Ash to come do something with her, but he had refused, saying he had his own plans. Then there was a knock on Leaf's bedroom door. "Come in," Leaf said.

The person who walked in was none other than Gary Oak, Leaf's crush. For once he didn't have his signature smirk on his face. Rather, Gary had an actual smile. "W-what are you doing here, Gary?" Leaf asked, blushing.

"Well, Ashy-boy told me you were bored, so I came to invite you to the beach," Gary replied. Leaf couldn't believe what she was hearing. The Gary Oak was inviting her to the beach? Her crush! The boy she loved since, well, forever!

"Of course I'll come with you!" Leaf exclaimed. "Let me just get ready," she continued. Leaf then shoved Gary out her room while she got dressed in her blue bikini with white stars on it. When she came out of her room, Gary's eyes widened. "You like it?" Leaf asked smugly.

"It suites you," Gary replied. They then headed to the beach. When they got there, Leaf's eyes widened. The water was crystal clear, and the sand was pure white. Gary could see how amazed Leaf was. "It's so beautiful," Leaf gasped.

"It's also a private beach. Only paying people can enter," Gary told her. Leaf looked at Gary, confused. She couldn't understand why Gary would stake her to a private beach, and not a public one.

"Why this beach? Why not a public one?" Leaf asked. Gary smiled softly and caressed Leaf's face with one hand. That made Leaf even more confused. Gary never shows signs of affection.

"I took you here to tell you something special, something I don't want anyone else to hear," Gary whispered. Leaf's heart beat faster. Could he really...?

"I love you, Leaf Green, forever and always," Gary said softly. Leaf felt like she would burst with happiness. Gary looked nervous after his confession, since Leaf wasn't responding. So she told him she loved him back in the best way she knew how.

Leaf leaned forward and kissed Gary, gently and softly. Before he could kiss back, however, Leaf pulled away. "I love you too, Gary Oak," Leaf replied with joy.

Suddenly, they noticed how late it had become, so hand-in-hand, the new couple headed back to Pallet Town, ready to start their new adventure together.
