The moment V saw the girl, it was like time froze. The people walking by, the leaves rustling in the breeze, the bark of a dog; everything became hushed and blurry. Without even thinking, he held up his camera, positioned it just so.
The flash was quick and went unnoticed.
It wasn't until he was staring at the photo he had taken that V realized it was rather creepy to take a picture of some random girl in a park. Still, she was different. She was crouching on the ground next to a small patch of wildflowers, peering into them and smiling slightly.
Taking a breath, the blue haired man took a chance and walked over. She seemed surprised by his outstretched hand, her oddly colored (Like honey) eyes sparkling in the sunshine. Even so, she took his hand, shook it firmly.
"I'm V," he said, as if in a dream.
"I'm Rose," She replied, standing and brushing the dirt from her knees. An odd name, but V went by a letter so he wasn't the right person to judge.
"This..." he hesitated a moment, thinking about how to phrase his question without sounding like a weirdo. Of course, that time had probably long since passed. "Would it be okay if I took a picture of you? I'm a Photographer by trade and hobby."
She gave an odd look. Well, Rose mused, adjusting her stance and staring at the man standing before her, his hands trembling slightly with excitement as they clutched the camera. He doesn't seem like a creep. He's kind of...cute.
She smirked, but her eyes held no malice. "Shouldn't we at least exchange numbers before doing something like that?"
V flushed a healthy pink. "Oh. That's fine."
The sunglasses perched on the end of his slender nose slipped down a little as he fished around in his pocket for his phone. She pulled out her own.
Once they were in each other's contact lists, Rose stood a little straighter. "Where do you want me?"
V made a square out of his fingers, peering at the scene through them.
"A little to the right, closer to the flowers," he instructed, already in full on work mode. "That's perfect."
He took the picture and showed it to her. It revealed a gentle looking girl with light brown hair, a hesitant smile and earrings in the shape of butterflies. She was wearing a dark gray sundress and combat boots, a plane black messenger bag hanging from her bony shoulder.
Rose stared at for a moment, at a loss. "Wow, and I was thinking I looked shitty today. You must be really talented."
V grinned at the complement for a moment before his smile faltered.
Rose frowned. "What is it?"
His hand was hesitant as it reached forward and brushed against her hair, long fingers gently extracting a small worm from the strands.
"Inchworm," he explained, a little awkward, peering at the tiny creature briefly before letting it go in the grass.
Her nose scrunched up, freckles gathering like a cluster of stars on her cheeks. "I freaking love inchworms."
A/N: I hope V is at least somewhat in character. OC will most likely become the MC later on. Spoiler free constructive criticism is appreciated.
