"A Cruel Man"

by: Ruemaja Elisca

I've been itching to write a fanfic for SMT:Devil summoner: raidou kuzunoha since last night. and finally inspiration has come! yeah! please be warned that this is yaoi.

disclaimer: Devil Summner doesn't belong to me.

The boy was finally asleep and tucked safetly in his bed. Narumi was just there, sitting on the chair beside the boy's bed, just watching his chest rise up and down in a slow steady rhythm, the smoke from his cigarette slowly rising up to the ceiling.

The boy, Raidou had been missing for almost a week. He'd didn't want to believe Sadakichi when he came with the news that his poor pale boy had died in the battle in Sakuradayama tower. But when he didn't come back the next day, he moarned, deciding to end it all by bringing the one who had killed the boy with him.

He planned to die.

But he still couldn't accept that he had died. So he left a note for the boy to wait for him and drop the case. Just in case...

Hoping against hope...

To wait...

But who really was waiting?

Raidou is a cruel boy.

And Narumi, himself, more cruel.

He left the agency, saying goodbye to those who had helped him.

Narumi planned to die.

Suddenly, the boy shows up to save him from Munakata. And the boy's alive and safe, though in a blind rage when the boy saw him in a battered, bloody state. He'd made a quick job of killing what once was Munakata then fainted in exhaustion.

Narumi wanted to die.

He'd carry the boy back to office. The boy was surprisingly light lying in his arms like that, face peaceful. Narumi almost wanted to kiss him. Almost. Because he knows he shouldn't. He shoudn't kiss the boy for thousands of reasons. He wanted to just drop all those reasons. He wanted to be selfish.

Slowly, Narumi reached out to touch the peaceful face to feel the pale skin, soft, beneath his fingertips. But he stops just a few centimeters away and withdrew his hand, leaned back the chair and gave out a trembling, heavy sigh.

"What am I doing...?" He murmured, bandaged hand on his face.

He didn't notice the tear that slowly rolled down his face. He got up and turned the lights off and very quietly shut the door behind him.

At that moment, Raidou opened his eyes and turned to the now empty chair an sighed.

Narumi really was a cruel, cruel man.

Thank you for reading.
