Sweat trickles down his back, stirring gooseflesh in its wake. He's shaking, trembling from head to toe, swaying slightly in place. There are sticks digging into his knees through his jeans and saltwater dripping off his nose, stinging the scrapes on his face. It's almost impossible to catch yourself when your hands are tied behind your back, though he'd still tried.

Nobody knows he's missing. There's no David to swoop in like Batman.

The barrel feels hard against his head and he's never been more terrified. This time, this time it's for real.

There's a bang and a body falls.
