Sarah was at Ethan's house, yet again. The Morgan left for their casual date night out.
Ethan was just upstairs in his room. With Benny, of course. "Hey, Benny, uh I'm going to go check up on Sarah, okay?" "Dude, she's your babysitter. That's her job." Ethan let out a frustrated growl. "She. Is. JANE's babysitter. NOT MINE." "Alright dude. Don't get mad at me because you need a babysitter and I don't." And with that, Ethan left the room.
When Ethan got downstairs, heard Sarah say the words he's been wanting to here from her since they first met-"Erica. I think I might be in love…eww. Girl no…Ethan." At that moment, Ethan felt like jumping around and throwing his fist in the air.
"Why would I be in love with that Ethan? We're just friends…who would care if he likes me... NO ERICA. That is the WRONG Ethan. I would kill myself. Literally with a wooden stake, I would kill myself before going out with him." Ethan's heart smashed into millions of tiny little pieces.
"What?...NO…..because…what if he gets freaked out and he stops hanging around me?...I only call him that because he might get a hint if I call him sexy…"
Their conversation trailed behind Ethan as he headed towards the kitchen to get a glass of water, heartbroken. As he was heading back up stairs, glass cup in hand, he heard something that he never thought possible-
"Guess…nope. I'm not telling you…no…no…no…nope…that is not all the Ethans that we know…Ugh. Fine. Ethan...Morgan…who cares if he's a nerd…at least he doesn't go around like the jocks pretending to be someone he's not."
It was then Ethan dropped his glass of water, causing Sarah to turn around. "Ethan," she breathed. This was the time in life she was looking forward to avoiding. She wasn't ready, but it looks like it's too late for that. Even though she already knew the answer, she still asked, "How much did you hear?"
Someone took some duct tape and taped Ethan's heart into a single, health whole once again as he began to grin. "Why are you grinning?" asked Sarah. "Because," Ethan began as he took the few steps till they were only an inch away, "I just found out that the most beautiful girl that I was crushing on since we met returns the feelings."
It was right then and there when Ethan did what he has wanted to do but has never had the guts to do it- he took her chin in his and pressed his lips firmly against hers.
