Well… something I wrote on my iPod while at my sister's cheerleading competition a few weeks back. Working on several other NT things but haven't finished yet so… a short until I do.
A note: the formatting fails. Not sure why. Sorry!
No offense meant to any cheerleaders. Don't own. Riley speaks first.
Cheer
"Tell me why I'm here again?"
"You didn't want to miss Charlotte's first competition."
"I need to learn to refuse that puppy-dog stare. How did I forget? I
hate cheerleaders. They hate geeks. They just stare at us with that
look on their face and- sorry. Oh crud- Ben!"
"What? What, Riley?"
"I- I know her, Ben. She went to my school. No, don't look!"
"Cheer up- she didn't see you."
"I hate this."
"You already said that."
"Well, it's true."
"Weren't you always complaining about how there are never any girls
around? Well, here you go."
"Yeah, well seeing as they're all under the age of 12 and all
obnoxiously perky, I'm going to have to pass on this golden
opportunity. How long until we can leave?"
"No idea. You see Abigail anywhere?"
"Nope."
"Great."
"I hate this."
"Riley-"
"Fine. But the next time you even think of dragging me to one of these
I'll-"
"I'll have to find someone else to go treasure hunting with. We've had
this conversation three times already, Ri."
"Still..."
"After Charlotte goes we'll ditch- I'll let you be in charge of the
radio."
"You won't diss Linkin Park? I heard them playing one of those songs
over the speakers by the concession stand- it's like they're mocking
all that's good and sacred and not-perky in this world. "
"Whatever you say."
"Don't laugh."
"I'm not."
"Gnarph!"
"...ok, now I'm laughing."
"It was right in my face!"
"It was a pom-pom, Riley. A gun you can handle, but a pom-pom? I- ow."
"Those suckers hurt, don't they. And those hair flips they do- when it
gets in your face- ugh."
"I believe you. Ow."
"Now announcing...."
"I can never hear a word they're saying."
"Me either. Come on, there's Abigail."
"Does she have-"
"She does."
"Great. I really, really hate this."
"I know- but we better go get seats."
"Who's that girl next to Abigail? More importantly... Is that a Star
Wars shirt?"
"And you said that nothing good ever came out of cheerleading."
The girl in the Star Wars shirt is.... Golden-Heart, because her comment about being jealous of the OCs made me laugh.
Until next time- hopefully soon! :D
Cocoa =D
