Disclaimer: I don't own Firefly…. I just like to mess with it….

A/N: Well, I should be writing for my other stories, but instead I wrote this…. Oh well! Many thanks to Gypsy Lupin-Black and her translator friend…And enjoy!

"The girl knows what the boy's been doing in his bunk…" River announced proudly as she swung into the dining room a goofy smile plastered on her face. A choking sound could be heard from the small kitchen area as River strutted to the end of the table and stared at the large man seated at the head.

"What!?" A raspy voice growled from the small kitchen. Jayne looked up from the gun parts spread out on the table, shock evident on his face.

"The girl sees the pretties in the boy's mind's eye…" She said as she sat up on the table with her back to Jayne, dangling her legs. Mal walked from the kitchen to River's end of the table. "Everything's just shiny, Captain Daddy!" She muttered in an imitation of Kaylee as she lay flat on the table, tilting her head back far enough so that she could see the still silent and shocked Jayne. She smiled at him adoringly, her eyes large innocent orbs.

Mal grunted and walked to the small sitting area and huffed onto one of the small couches. He glared across the room at Jayne who was now looking at Mal with a guarded expression, "I'm just goin' sit here and see just how 'shiny' everything really is…" Mal said making himself a bit more comfort on the small couch. She hummed in approval still lying in the awkward position on the table, eyes fixed on Jayne.

"The girl knows that she didn't lose her little blushing friends, she knows the boy took them to make a present for the sunlight…" She rolled off her back and onto her stomach propping her head up and fixing her shockingly subjective gaze on Jayne.

Jayne looked back at her a question clearly evident in his eyes, "What are you on about, moonbrain?" he growled at her end of the table and shifted uncomfortably under her gaze.

"The boy must pay a price of love though from the use of her blushing friends. But the boy doesn't have to right now…" She said this as she slid back and bounced onto her feet with a dancer's grace. She wandered over to the captain, kissed him on the cheek, and then rushed out of the room like the devil himself was after her. Mal's cheeks turned red as he struggled off the couch and harrumphed at the running footsteps.

"Well, Jayne you have anything to say about that?" He asked as he started toward the hallway leading to the cockpit seemingly unconcerned with River's little scene.

"Uh, no Mal…" was all that Jayne said. As the captain kept walking to the cockpit, Jayne glanced behind him to check that Mal had actually left the room. Then he reached under his seat to recover his genuine project. A large pad of River's cream colored sketch paper and an assortment of her colored pencils were now in his hand. Scrawled along the top of the front page was "To Kaylee: Happy Birthday, Girl! From Jayne, your ge-ge in the Black" and underneath that was a beautiful flower, that he now continued to shade in.

"What in the 'verse was the girl talking about?"
