Clean Finish
summary: You know that scene in Marathon Man where Monk and Sharona were going to race? This was inspired by that. disclaimer: Nope, I'm not making any money off this *disappointed sigh*, but if anyone wants to pay me I will accept.( JUST KIDDING!! PLEASE DON'T SUE ME!
"Ok, I think I've got everything." Adrian Monk said as he pulled out a box of rulers.

"Adrian, what is all that stuff for?" Sharona asked, exasperated.

"Well, if we're going to race, we'll need a starting line and a finish line. And they need to be straight, so I thought we could take the ruler and measure it out, and then-"

"Give me that! Give it to me!" Sharona grabbed the box and threw it on the ground. "Do you know how long it would take to do that? I have to pick Benji up from school in less than an hour!"

"I know- I know- but it just-"

She broke him off. "Close your eyes."

"What?"

"Close your eyes! I'm going to draw the line, and I don't want you to watch. Now, close your eyes!"

Monk did as he was told.

Sharona picked a stick off the ground and drew two lines: one for the starting point and one for the finish line.

"You can open them now, Adrian, but do NOT look at the ground!"

He reluctantly complied.

"Ok. Are you ready?"

Monk nodded slowly, and put on his freshly washed sweat band that Tonday had given him.

"Good. On your mark," They bent down, "Get set," They tensed up, "GO!"

Both of them shot out at a high speed of ΒΌ mile per hour. Monk looked across at Sharona, she was right across from him. He tried to speed up, but she matched his pace. There were only a few more steps to the finish line HE HAD TO WIN! Without thinking, Monk leaped in the air and slide on the ground to the finish line, barely ahead of Sharona.

Sharona hurried to help him up. "Adrian?!? Are you ok?"

He smiled. "I won."

She grinned at him and began to help Monk wipe the dirt off his suit. "You sure did."

"Great.can I have wipe?"
