Silence filled the serene atmosphere of the forest. Though the blinding fog is still thick, he boldly made his way within the forest's shadowy paths, following his usual routine of practicing his hunting skills.
Their family is well known throughout the lands. They lived in a world, fueled by magic and through their practice of white magic, they were granted authority over the land as well as the job of protecting the balance of magic. Out of purity, they cultivated their white magic, gaining them dominance over much of the populace. As their influence grows, their power broadened its capacity. From healing simple diseases, they learned telepathy and the ability to access different dimensions.
But as civilization progressed, magic was ignored and forgotten. Technology reigned over the seemingly superstitious belief that is magic, banishing its last information to the forgotten memories of old.
Trees were cut down, rivers were drained and the sky was painted black. Nature showed them signs of instability. But they didn't heed its warnings. They continued to advance their seemingly unchallenged, harmless and obedient technology that they have no idea that their creation would turn its back against them.
As technology grew, misuse resulted in a release of harmful toxins into the environment, resulting in widespread death and destruction. Though his parents managed to stop the great destruction, and managed to restore balance in their region, they died due to overuse of magic, draining them of their spiritual energy.
His brother survived of course but he was banished by their clan for his practice of demonology after opening a black dimensional gateway in his room.
Seeing the negative effects of magic within his clan, Sasuke, the last surviving member of the famed Uchiha clan, decided to bury the last remaining traces of magic within his clan, burying the books, along with its memories in the deep unknown.
He was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a loud yelp coming from the forest. Shaking his head, he rushed towards the forest's inner sanctum only to be greeted with a majestic sight.
Gold flowing fur shone as the sun started to take over the skies. To his astonishment, it has nine bushy tails gracefully moving at its rear end. What surprised him is the size of its body. It's big, and as he stared at its eyes, he realized that they at the same height, as he was staring at its eyes in a straight angle. Its graceful movement was turned to desperate movement in an attempt to get away from an iron claw trapping its left foot, yelping and growling loudly at the offending equipment.
Sasuke's eyes widened as he realized what had happened. The poor creature was caught in one of his traps and only him could free it. Pitying the fox-like demon in front of him, he came nearer only to be barked at by the big fox.
"Easy, I'm not going to hurt you. Let me help you..." The growl seemed to lessen as he gently stroked behind its ears, while slowly removing the claw at its feet. As he freed it, it tackled him to the ground, licking his face and barking at him happily, and for the first time, Sasuke laughs genuinely.
As the licked at him, it started to lessen in size, until it reached the size of an average german shepherd dog which Sasuke noticed, but didn't bothered to comment on.
"Come here you... let's clean that wound first." Sasuke pointed at its left foot as he led the demon to their old yet sturdy mansion.
