A/N: Wow... Another story! This is for the "Lucky Dip Competition". My prompt is "welcome home", and my person is Regulus Black.
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.
This is for anyone with writers block. I have it, and so I am doing many challenges to try to break through it. Good luck!
They were always happy to see him. Always. It was never the way it was with Sirius for him. Because when Regulus came home for Christmas break during his First Year, he got a hug.
His mother ran towards him at the station, and wrapped her arms around him.
"Welcome home, my little Regulus."
His father surprised him with an old Slytherin scarf of his.
"For good luck at your Quidditch games. Welcome home, son."
Even though years- four of them- had passed since he was a First Year, nothing had changed. Because when he finished his Fifth Year at Hogwarts, and he got off the train, his mother still ran towards him. His father still clapped him on the back and praised his Quidditch skills.
"We missed you, Regulus."
"Welcome home, son."
Seventh Year was done, now. He had finished it all. He was now a Death Eater, part of Voldemort's inner circle of followers. He had the mark to prove it.
But even though years had passed since he was a Seventh Year, nothing had changed. When he was finished with his meetings, murder, or job for the day, his mother still ran towards him when he walked through that door. And his father still praised everything he did.
He had, at last, finished everything. School, his commitment to the Dark Lord, life...
But even though years had passed since he was a Death Eater, nothing had changed. When his life was over, when his soul rose, all the way out of this world, why should anything change? Nothing had. When he arrived, his mother still ran toward him. And his father still praised him, for everything he did.
A/N: Okay... review?
