In the beginning…

An Andalite Creation Story

Note: This is an approximated creation story, collected from old papers and Andalites who still remember.

In the beginning…

There was Za-Lavarne. She woke up and opened her eyes.

She looked around at the nothing that surrounded her, and she said, "May there be space." And she was in space.

Za-Lavarne needed another, a companion. She cut herself open with her tailblade, and took out one of her hearts.

Kai-Rashav was created out of Za-Lavarne's heart. He became the light.

Kai-Rashav and Za-Lavarne had a child, whom they named Cha-Zarine. Cha-Zarine was fine for a time, but soon got very lonely. She came to her parents and asked them to make her into something that could not feel loneliness.

Kai-Rashav and Za-Lavarne were sorrowful, but they complied, and created her to be the Andalite homeworld.

Now Za-Lavarne and Kai-Rashav came to an impasse. Za-Lavarne wanted to create other worlds so that the universe would not be empty. Kai-Rashav wanted the Andalite homeworld to be the only world in the universe. So Za-Lavarne took out her other heart and created the stars and planets with it.

Then, she created Vay-Koral to govern it, so that she could keep creating more worlds.

Kai-Rashav was resentful, because his daughter was only one world. He knew that he could not create other worlds without Za-Lavarne. So he came to the people who had arisen on the Andalite homeworld, and told them of what had happened, making Za-Lavarne evil in his telling.

The Andalite people slowly drove Za-Lavarne out of the Andalite homeworld, making her truly evil, as they thought she was.

Vay-Koral came out to keep his mother company, and Kai-Rashav stayed with his daughter forever, creating the sun.
