Title: "Do You Like Fairytales?"
Rated: K
Pairing(s): None.
Authors Notes: Hey ho, guys! Here's something I wrote a bit ago, but really only posted it on FRoP. It was because I didn't really like it too much, and I wasn't sure if people would actually read it on especially since this isn't a romance one. Which reminds me... please give me your congratulations, because this is the first ever piece of fanfiction I've ever written that has absolutely no romance!

-waits for cheers-

-gets none-

DX Awww.

Anyway, this was made sort of out of a whim (like usual) but it had a purpose. For awhile now I've been annoyed at the angsty fanfictions involving Kaoru's Pumpkin Carriage theory. There's so many!! And thus, I wanted to write a happy non-angsty one, and here it is! It's quite hopeful, in my eyes, since out of this question of boredom Kaoru got the answer he was looking for since forming this metaphor. And from Haruhi, no less! So I'm really liking this now, even if it doesn't make sense. Also...

For my readers who read my KaoHaru stuff, don't fret! Right now I, am working on a Christmas fanfiction for them and I hope to get it done soon. And I also hope to get hit by some sort of inspiration so I'll write the fourth drabble for the collection (and hopefully more). Now, before I ramble on further, read and enjoy!

(And review... -winkwinknudgenudge-)

"Do you like fairytales?" Kaoru asked out of the blue. He turned his lazy eyes to Haruhi and restarted his question. "Do you believe in them?"

"Ano..." she said thoughtfully, putting a finger to her lips in thought. "I suppose when I was a kid, but I don't think much of them now."

Kaoru raised his eyebrow at her, "Really? Why not?"

Haruhi shrugged and answered bluntly as always, "Well, they seem unbelievably false now. Fairytales aren't reality, they're fiction. I don't see why I should like them or believe them if they aren't based on fact." Kaoru's dull eyes turned sharp and he sat in a upright position, now clearly interested. Haruhi was just plain confused on his sudden enthusiasm on the subject, "What?"

"Would that mean... a pumpkin carriage, like in Cinderella, would be fictional, too? And people shouldn't worry about it, because they aren't real and they shouldn't represent real life?"

"Huh?"

With the biggest grin on his face, he waved it off with a hand and said "Nothing, nothing. Forget about it," to reassure her mind. Haruhi was confused about Kaoru, but she said nothing and just watched him skip happily towards his brother. She was most likely puzzled about his attitude, but he didn't care. Because she just reassured something in his mind;

'Pumpkin Carriages aren't real. Cinderella is fiction. If this is true, then the carriage won't turn to a pumpkin because the carriage itself wasn't there in the first place.'

He smiled to himself and talked with Hikaru, laughing at a joke he just told. Tamaki was outraged because the joke was about him. Kyouya said something cold, and Haruhi walked over to the group to tell Tamaki he was over reacting. Tamaki was in his Corner of Woe and Hunny (with Mori following close behind) tried to comfort him by offering his Bun-Bun and inviting him for cake. At this, Kaoru roared in simultaneous laughter with his twin. But this wasn't completely because if Milords ridiculous actions; it was because he was having so much fun with his family.

'The Host Club may seem like fiction, but it is reality, unlike Cinderella. People have already fell for Haruhi, problems have already come our way, and the Host Club, our family, hasn't been ruined. The carriage can't turn into a pumpkin. Because the carriage doesn't exist.'

Hope you liked it!
