Hi guys, I absolutely adore the Blacklist and since I've not written a fanfic for like half a century I thought this was the perfect opportunity.
One single side note, I'm Dutch so there are going to be like trillions of spelling and grammar errors.
Animals
She lived the nearly perfect life far way from all her haunted memories from the past. Irina Vinogradova retired pathologist looked at the street outside the window.
It was a normal rather plain street just outside Washington D.C, the big detached houses with freshly cut grass and vehicles that made her wonder how much they had cost.
If it hadn't been for the baby she wouldn't set a single foot in a neighbourhood like this. The little girl, Sofia was also the only reason why she hadn't committed suicide in first place.
Her former life was filled with action and sensation everything she needed at the time. Working with the most dangerous men and women alive had it's benefits, but when she wanted to leave to only thing she had been giving was a gun against her head.
Now Irina was the involved in a cat and mouse game, she was the mouse and her former clients the hungry cats.
A knock against the window made her nearly jump. She made her way slowly to the door several scenarios flashing through her mind.
It were probably just some school kids selling cookies or something like that. Irina opened the door and looked terrified at the man in front of her.
Raymond Reddington.
"Irina, darling you look like you've just seen a ghost." Red said joyful which made a chill go down her spine.
"Well, you look more like a demon." She replied making Reddington laugh. Irina hadn't yet realized that there was a woman standing just beside him.
Before she had said something he already had made his way past her the woman following him hastily.
Now he was in, there was no way she could get him out. When she entered the living room, he was already sitting on her sofa while the woman stood a few meters beside him.
"What are you doing here?" It took her some difficulty not to scream. Red had token his hat of and was now smiling amused at her.
"I need your help Irina, there is somebody after me." His face immediately serious.
"What has it to do with me?" She asked interested but still angry.
"Have you ever heard of a man called Berlin?" He said the name Berlin with pure intense hate.
"He's a myth." Irina replied truthfully. This was the first time the woman spoke. "I can assure you Mrs. Vinogradova he's real."
She took a better look at the woman in front of her. Rather young, a few years younger then her so probably in her twenties. Average height and weight.
Quite a normal American woman, the only detail that kept her interest was the scar on her wrist.
"I'm sorry we haven't met before, right?" She asked politely forcing a smile on her thin lips.
"Elizabeth Keen, FBI we are currently investigating Berlin's movements." The woman called Elizabeth said and she shook Irina's hand.
The fact that criminals did business with the FBI made her amused, but with Reddington you couldn't be sure.
"Even if I could help, why would I? There reasons why I left the business, Red." She wouldn't risk Sofia's life.
At that moment the little baby started to cry making it even worse.
"We can protect your daughter, ma'am." Said Agent Keen.
"What kind of services do you need?" If they could protect her baby then she could maybe help.
"We need you to examine a body the cause of death is rather suspicious."
What did you guys think? Please review, it makes things far much easier. :)
PS. Currently Animals by Maroon 5 is my favorite song and since I couldn't come up with a proper title, Animals will do.
Love,
Florine
