"Just do it Bella, baby. It'll be quick, you won't even feel it." The soft, hushed tones of Jacob's voice hummed against Bella's ear, blowing a few tendrils of her hair against her cheek.
"I...I'm scared, J." Her bottom lip quivered, her hand and the tool held in it shaking. Jacob's lips pressed against Bella's jaw, his large hand cupping around the back of her neck.
"Come on, Bells. You know I'll be waiting there for you. We can be together, for real without anyone giving us shit."
"I know, I'm just..." She trailed off, refusing to meet Jacob's dark eyes and instead observing the way the light glinted against the blade of the object clutched so tightly in her hand.
"Don't you love me?" His voice had grown harsh, the way that scared Bella and she flinched. She knew how he got when he was angry.
"Of course I..."
"Then why can't you do this for me? For us?" He snapped, tightening his grip on the back of Bella's neck to the point of pain.
"Yes! Yes." Bella gasped, sighing when his grasp loosened. He grinned, that grin, the one that made Bella feel like everything would always be okay then pushed their lips together, fast and hard. Bella reached for his cheek with her free hand, he took it in his own though and gestured to the sacred object Bella held.
"Now, for us." Bella nodded and pulled her thin, cotton sleeves up to her elbows. Pressing the clean silver to her porcelain wrists, she looked up to Jacob for reassurance and he smiled, nodding. She pushed down and dragged.
The crimson was shocking against her creamy skin and white sheets as it dripped steadily from the laceration on her wrist.
"It's so...fast." She whispered, blown by the feeling of her life being slowly drained away. Jacob simply grinned again, though it seemed more a brutal baring of white teeth.
"It's beautiful, Bells. You're beautiful...Do the other." Bella nodded and pressed the knife to her other, slowly she pressed it down, ready to slice away her life.
"Bella? What the...BELLA!" Charlie, standing in the doorway, eyebrows creased in horror and shock, frozen. Her eyes flickered up slowly and the knife fell out of her grip, hitting the floor with a clatter. To her, it was like everything had freeze framed for a moment, knife-now coated in blood-half way fallen to the floor, ruby droplets halfway rolled across her skin, Charlie's face stuck in an expression of devastation. Then everything sped up, blood spouting from the gash too quickly and Charlie being almost on top of her, screaming incoherently and ripping strips off of her sheets, fingertips digging into her arm too hard as he knotted a strip above her elbow tightly, to cut off circulation.
Jacob was lost in the situation, unacknowledged by Charlie in the chaos of makeshift bandaging Bella's arm. When he realised that it was doing little to stem the flow of blood, he picked her up with a little difficulty and began to make his way down to the car. He didn't bother with seatbelts as he pushed her onto the seat.
"Dad, I'm-"
"Don't you dare tell me you're fine. This," he gestured to the soaked bandage around Bella's wrist, starting the car, "is not fine. It's not okay, Bella."
"Jacob and I, we were-"
"Jacob does not exist, Bella! You imagined him, he's in your head and he's making you hurt yourself."
"No. I didn't...He's not...I'm not crazy...dad." Bella's sentences were growing more incoherent, her head misty as more blood was lost.
"No, you're not. You're sick, Bella. You need help, you need to be away from...him." Bella shook her head, everything seeming slowed down.
"No...you can't...keep us...apart." She managed to sigh before everything turned black.
Dude, it's been a loooong time since I wrote anything in this fandom. So let me know if it sucks or not. xo
