He could see the indecision in her eyes, after all this time she still felt as if she couldn't trust him. He supposed that was mostly his own fault, constantly running after every beautiful woman he saw may not have been the best way to solve his commitment issues but he saw that now. He saw that she was the only one for him. Someone who could keep him in check, someone he could love and protect and if need be, be protected in return. She was strong, mentally and physically, strong enough to put up with him and strong enough to beat some sense into him when she was tired of putting up with his shit. He loved her, with his heart, his mind, his body, the tunnel that was slowly consuming him paled in comparison to how his love for her consumed him. He wanted her by his side, when they fought their battles, made happy memories, and trudged through their sorrows. He wanted a life with her; simply being consumed by the wind tunnel just wouldn't do, anymore. He wanted to settle down with her after everything was said and done, have children, grow old… and as he put those thoughts into the gaze he held her eyes in he asked, "Sango, will you please just let me love you?" and when her indecision faded and she melted in his arms, and accepted his love for her fully, he knew she could, she would make him a better man than he could ever be without her.
