What do you see?

I know what I was
I know what I am
I know what I will be.

The problem is,
Do you see what I see?

Do you see a girl who is naive?
Do you see a teenager who is foolish?
Or do you see a young lady, who sees,
But is not seen?

If you see any of these things,
You don't see me...
Not the real me.

When you look at me,
What do you see?

A fumbling sailor scout in training?
A young bounty hunter learning the ropes perhaps?
Or an arrogant slayer finding her limits?

If you see any of those things
When you look at me,
Then you don't see me...
Not the real me.

Do you want to know what I see?
Do you actually care to hear me out?
Well then...
I see a young woman, who has seen too much,
I see a child, who never wants to grow up,
Whom lives in a fantasy world.

If you see the girl I am not,
Then you are blind.
If you see the teen that I am,
Then you see wrong.
If you seen then the lady that hasn't emerged yet,
Then you're hallucinating.
If you see one of the many beings that I dream to succeed,
Then you are ignorant.
An if you see me,
Just me and only me....
Then you see nothing.

I can never be any of those things,
Not ever, not truly.

I will always be who I am at this moment,
This place in time,
Confused and lonely,
But still just fine.

Not simply a girl,
Not only a teen,
Not the woman who I have yet to become,
And not just a figment.

I am all, and neither.

So, now that you see me,
What do you think?
