This randomly came into my head, and I had to hurry to write it in fifteen minutes, before I had to go do homework and before it went out of my head. Yay for randomness! The review button still loves you! Show some love in return! This is shorter than my usual writing, but it's all I've been able to muster. Wow, I've noticed it's been a week since I last published something... Wow.

It was a usual day, Col had thought. It was springtime; puffy clouds were drifting slowly across the sky. It was the middle of the week, a Wednesday, one more day left of school, and then Spring Break!

But something was wrong. Dreadfully wrong. IF Col could figure it out.

"Hey, Connie!" he called to a girl across the courtyard.

"Hi, Col!" Col didn't see it, but she grinned maliciously. Knowing Col, she had reasoned, he would have forgotten. Her plan was to kiss him, say she loved him, and when he asked "Really?" she would say 'no' and tell him exactly what day it was.

"Hey," she said, as he came closer.

Col smiled, somewhat warily. Connie was smiling mischievously, like she did before she was about to do something… torturous to him. Col knew about her torture. She had already gotten Anneena and Jane to throw a pie at his face before. And other generally embarrassing moments, which she had gotten on film, thanks to Rat.

"I always get suspicious when you're smiling at me that way…" Col sounded a bit mistrustful.

"Would I ever do anything cruel to you?" Connie looked hurt, indignant, and a bit shocked.

"Would you like to go over the list?" Col asked dryly.

"Nah, I'll pass. I know it's nonexistent, anyways."

"Soo… Are you going to the Spring Dance tomorrow night?"

"Why would I? No one would ask me. Mostly because of the yelling that I give whoever asks…" Connie was smiling underneath, this hadn't been exactly her plan, but it would be fun anyway.

"Well… wouldyouwanttogowithmeifiaskedyouto?" Col rushed, mumbling.

"Speak louder, Col, I can't hear you."

"…Do you want to go with me to the Spring Dance?" Col said softly, but more articulately.

"Col!" Connie acted shocked. "Of course not!"

"Why not?" Col asked, still softly, hurt.

Connie proceeded to yell at him. "Do you think that girls have to go to a dance whenever a boy asks her to? Maybe you should be more considerate of whether other people have plans! Maybe I just want to relax instead of going out somewhere where it won't be comfortable! Did you ever think? Did you? Of course not! Because you're just a stupid, idiotic boy."

Col stood, hurt and stunned.

But then, he felt Connie… Connie… kissing him? Confused thoughts swirled around his head. 'A dangerous habit- thinking.' Col thought, before ceasing to think at all.

"But… what?" Col asked, once Connie drew away.

Connie laughed, kissed him again, and whispered into his ear, "Happy April 1st, fool."

Happy early April Fool's Day!!!!!! Instead of pranking friends and family, how about you prank me and tell me how awesome my story was?
