Disclaimer: I don't own General Hospital nor Scott, Tony or Dominique. This is the first in a 12 part series.
"We won't know until the tests come back if the tumor is growing faster then we predicted or if shifted," Tony said
"Shifted," Scott's ears perked up, "if it shifted that might mean that it could be operatable"
Tony was quiet for a full minute and ½.
"Scott that IS a possiblity if it shifted just so at the proper angel and the right way but in Dominique's case that is very unlikely. I don't want you to get your hopes up just to have them crashing back down."
"But if-"
"There are a lot of factors here Scott. The first one being we don't know if it's growing or if it shifted. Also if it did shift we don't know if it shifted the right way. Then there is the treatment factor. I mean things have been a little insane lately as you know. Finally there's no garuntee that she'll survive the operation"
"Tony we've been friends since kindergaten. Friends are always there for each other even when the chips are down. I've been there for you"
"I know you have and I've been there for you and I will continue to be there for you. That's not the issue here. The issue is that because you're my friend I don't want to get your hopes up and then have them coming crashing down like a whack on the head. We need to wait for the test results to come back and then we'll take it from there"
Ten minutes later Tony came back with a smile on his face.
"Shifted," Scott asked
"Shifted," Tony affirmed, "but like I said this is a very complicated situation. She's going to need electrode therapy and 6 weeks of chemo and radiation. This is going to be very painful for you because we're going to have to do reverse electrode where she wouldn't actually get the pain… you would and she'd be hooked up by wired IV. She's too weak to survive electrode. The chemo is going to make her pretty weak and with the radiation you should expect irratablity and some back talk"
"So basically no different then when she gets her monthly period," Scott said with a laugh.
"She can't get wet either," Tony said after he stopped laughing
"D+uh=duh," Scott replied and hugged him, "thank you Tony"
