100 words. I read again my Caprica Six fic called "Caprica" (which I am now renaming "Six's Caprica") and realized it could be great from Baltar's POV, too. So here it goes.
And just as for the Caprica Six version, I'm adding an extended version as chapter 2 (150 words).
French readers can also enjoy this fic translated into their (and my) mother tongue.
Fandom: BSG 2003.
Character: Baltar.
Spoilers: pretty slight, more or less up to Exodus part II (3x04).
Disclaimer: Baltar, Caprica, New Caprica and Caprica Six all belong to a genius named Ron Moore, who not only has great ideas but also gave BSG a real ending. Which, in the current TV-show world, should at least be worth a medal.
Caprica. The name of a dead planet. Dead because of him.
His adopted planet, so much effort to fit in. The funny thing is he wasn't ever really happy there. He wasn't able to look past the glitter. Or maybe, only briefly, with her.
The only woman he could have loved, the Cylon named after the planet he helped her destroy.
New Caprica. A name given to another planet. Hubris again. Political manipulation. The saddest thing is he couldn't help feeling glad to see her again.
Caprica. Destruction, his only hope of salvation. The irony was not lost on him.
