What is a scream? What causes then? To her, that one word means so many thingsā¦
i.
Her first memory of a scream was when her father chased her around their house. She was three. He was trying to tickle her, but she got away. Eventually that scream turned into giggles as her father caught her and tickled her until her mom said it was time for lunch.
ii.
"Honey, a letter came for you while you were at the library today," her mother said to her one day over the summer. It was a normal day, and her birthday was a few months ago.
"Oh? Who's it from?" she asked.
"I don't know, but it's up there if you'd like to read it," he mother responded, smiling and pointing to a shelf by the front door.
"Why wouldn't I want to read it, Mum. I never get mail," the eleven year old girl responded rapidly snatching the letter off the place her mother pointed to. She opened the letter quickly and read the contents in the same fashion.
Her first reaction was her eyes going wide, but that soon turned to excitement. A squeal left her lips and she couldn't believe it. She was a witch and she would be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry starting on the first of September. A whole new world for her to explore, and she couldn't wait.
iii.
A three headed dog lay before her and her two best friends not soon after she started at Hogwarts. The sound of fear escaped their lips as they turned to run away. That fear didn't go away until they were far away from the dog. Even then, it still hadn't fully gone away though. She was eleven then still.
iv.
The next major scream wasn't until her sixth year. Her Time Turner malfunctioned. Instead of going back five hours, she went back nearly fifty years. The year 1943 was one place she did not want to be. A strained silent scream emanated from her mouth as she realized where she was. She definitely wasn't fighting with the same person she was in her time now.
v.
It didn't happen until almost the end of her seventh year. The scream that caused the next. The one that changed everything.
She had fallen in love with someone she was supposed to hate, but now he was entering her slowly so she wouldn't be in pain. It still hurt but she didn't care. She wanted it after all. The scream that threatened to escape her lips out of pain soon turned to pants of want, which turned to a cry of pleasure as they both came.
vi.
Nine months later she yelled out as her first and second children were born. Those children would scream too.
vii.
Now she was standing before the man that had given her those children. He was evil because of her. Her children were not her own anymore as she hadn't been for all the time of their life after the age of six months. She hadn't wanted to leave them those fifty years ago, but she had no choice. She was pulled back to her original time.
He rejected her now, even though it wasn't her fault. She was back to where she started. Back in what was supposed to be her sixth year. For her she had been gone over two years. She was older than those she had left behind.
Hermione Jean Granger didn't scream when she took her own life. She just gasped in surprise that she had done it, just as her lost love and so many other people had.

I know this isn't my usual thing, but the thought wouldn't go away until I wrote it down. I was losing precious sleep. Don't hate me for this. It's just something I had to put out there.
