Lies

I got bored while writing the next chapter of 'Once Upon a Time', and started randomly typing things on the computer...

And voilĂ !

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters or the show, or anything as a matter of fact. Enjoy!

He sometimes simply couldn't take it. It drove him crazy. His job, his commitment, his oath. His double-life.

It burned, and stung him, to be swimming in a pool of lies. Lies. That's what he is. That's what his whole life is.

A big fat lie.

'He's just a platypus. They don't do much you know.' That's a lie.

'You must have him confused with another "Perry". Our Perry doesn't do any of that.' That's a lie too.

'Come on. I know Perry. He wouldn't disappear without eating his breakfast. He's bound to be around here somewhere-'

'You're a terrible liar!'

'He's been sleeping on the couch the whole time.'

'Perry? Oh, he's probably just exploring the town or something, as usual. I mean, where else could he be?'

Lies. They're all lies.

And it just killed him inside, to know that everything is a lie.

That they don't know who he really is. What he really does. Where he goes.

That they never can know...

It gave him nightmares, the idea of them finding out. And yet, he wanted them to know so badly.

You can imagine the absolute turmoil he experienced inside, that day when they visited the second-dimension.

How his heart shattered when he saw the look of betrayal on Phineas' face.

It teared him apart, when he saw that he was no longer trusted. No longer a part of the family. No longer their friend.

That was a nightmare come true.

You think he'd be anticipating the moment they'd have their memories erased, the moment they'd forget and things would turn back to normal; but as crazy as it was, he dreaded that moment.

He had been waiting for them to find out his entire life. He had been wishing to be able to finally once in his life, step out of his pool of lies.

But he had forgotten. It was against O.W.C.A. rules. It was either keep him and forget. Or lose their pet forever, but remember.

Of course, they chose to forget. It took less than a heartbeat to decide.

Though a part of Perry wished they didn't.

But he still keeps to himself. He would never dare tell them. Doing so, would result in a complete catastrophe...

So he still sneaks away everyday. He still stands by his oath. He still does his job.

He did, still does, and will do anything in his power, to keep the people he loves out of harm.

That at least, unlike everything else, is not a lie.
