Chapter One
Sam groaned, he had a massive scar on his back and he couldn't move his left leg. He had been on a scouting mission for Edilio in the national park when a bear had attacked him; he shot it with his lasers but not before it reached him. If there are bears here that must mean there are edible animals for it to prey on to. Whatever, Albert or someone else could take care of that. Sam's main concern right now was getting back to the lake.
It was almost dark now and Sam feared there might be worse things than bears lurking in the woods; he could have sworn he saw a wolf the size of a jeep earlier on.
Sam was using a forked stick as a crutch and was slowly making his way towards the highway; he hoped that maybe if he reached it that he might stand a chance of being found by Brianna. Then he saw a small clearing with a small fire in the centre, he decided to go investigate. When he reached clearing he saw that it was a campfire and it looked like it had recently been used.
Suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his back and he fell to the ground, he turned around and found a gun barrel pointed at his face. He raised his hands and searing green light shot out. There was a cry, a cry of terror not of pain. "Get him" shouted a boy's voice, "One step ahead of you" he heard a girl's voice reply, and at that same moment something sharp hit him in the stomach. He immediately felt drowsy. Sam tried to get up but he fell down into the dirt. The last thing Sam heard was a low growling noise before he slipped off into the darkness…
Brianna zipped out of the park onto the highway were Edilio and three of his crew were waiting for her. "So, did you find him?" one of Edilio's guys asked Brianna. "No, you really think I'd have just left him there if I had found him? Use your brain!" she snapped. "I guess we're gonna have to go look for him then" Edilio said disappointedly.
"Right, Jake you go with Brianna and Tom and I'l go with Adam and Sin-" he said it before he even realised; ever since Roscoe died Sinder had been slipping into depression and the fact that Edilio was the one who locked him up and left him to die didn't exactly help either. Not even Charlie her new boyfriend could cheer her up. "Um well, I'll go with Adam then, OK?" Edilio said with a fake smile, "Sure boss" Adam answered with a quiet voice.
Edilio turned to face the park, somewhere out there Sam was in danger and it was up to Edilio to get him back. "Right let's go!" Edilio said and with that they all headed towards the park.
