"Akaya. You're dead. So utterly dead."
Akemi Kirihara tightened her fists yet again as she ran out of the house, not hearing how her mother called out to her. She had had an horrible day and this was the icing on the cake; she had done bad at a highschool test where she expected to do well, then her boyfriend cancelled their date set for tonight, and when she came home to take care of her flowers (which she jokingly called "her babies")... there was a hole where one of her favorite tulips plants should be. A VERY recently made hole.
And only one person in the house was to blame for it.
Feeling fatigated, Akemi stopped for a second, breathing hard with her hands on her knees. How dared Akaya to take, no, steal one of her flowers, and specially that cute tulip that she took care of so amorously. He better had a stellar reason for it, and even then, Akemi would have delight into planning all kinds of punishments for the kid who invaded her flower realm.
Then, she saw a boy standing not too far from her. Yes, she thought after watching him a little more closely; it Akaya, with the body of evidence placed in a flower pot. But there was something odd... he looked like he was waiting for someone else. And he was fidgeting almost nervously in his place.
Akemi still wanted to punch the hell out of Akaya and take her tulip baby back home. She had right to do so, after all! But curiosity killed the cat, and instead of going up to her brother and punch him, she hid behind a nearby post and peeked at him, trying to guess which of her brother's female classmates was the girl who made him act so... un-Akaya-ish.
But who came up to Akaya, less than a minute later, was a guy. A tall, brown-haired, sweet-faced boy with half-closed eyes who, if Akemi's memory served her right, came once in a while to tutor Akaya for his school tests. Her green eyes went wide, guessing what would happen...
And it did. Akaya blushed even more, and with a frown he practically shoved the tulip towards the other boy... Ah, Renji. That was his name. Renji looked surprised (Akemi could swear she saw a small bit of dark brown eyes for a mere sec), asking if this tulip was really for him.
Akemi didn't see how Akaya reacted to Renji's question, though. She stopped peeking and sighed deeply, pondering on the events she had witnessed... Her little brother was growing up. Well, he still was a brat and she still was upset for him taking her tulip plant like he did, but it was to declare his love to a guy who was, in her eyes, one really good catch. Who knew, mauybe he'd be able to sort-of tame the little beast named Kirihara Akaya after all. Something that none of Akaya's former girlfriends was able to ever do.
She'd let him live for the time being, the highschooler decided as she quietly walked away, not even turning to see what Akaya and Renji were doing right now. She could hear their voices from a certain distance, though, and since Akaya wasn't screaming she guessed they were fine...
Or better said, Akaya would be really fine - only after she decided and gave him the punishment he still deserved for taking away her tulip. But that would come when he was back home.
