Never mess with Spencer Reid

Welcome everyone to my first ever Criminal Minds story! So I hope everyone enjoys this little piece of humor. So I don't own Criminal Minds. Now please reid, review, and enjoy!

They should never have done it, but it had just been far too tempting.

It had been a fairly quiet day at the bau, Spencer just walking into the office, but something was a little off. No one else was anywhere to be seen, he was completely alone in the office.

"Hello? Any body here?" Reid called as he made his way to his desk, but still no answer.

He brushed it off as he sat down at his desk.

He hadn't even been sitting at his desk for five minutes when the lights went out.

"Is anybody there?"

"Reid..." a voice called quietly, making his blood run cold.

"G-guys? S-somebody?!" He nearly screamed scrambling backwards into his chair.

"Reid..." the voice called again, much closer this time; a stream of cold air on his neck followed the voice.

He was terrified, he was alone in the dark, with some unknown monster.

"Time to die Reid..." the voice whispered right next to his ear.

"SOMEBODY!" He near screamed.

That's when he heard it, the familiar sound of Morgans laughter. The lights came on to reveal not just Morgan but Prentiss, JJ, and Garcia as well.

"Morgan?! God you son of a..." Reid groaned, covering his face with his hands.

"You gotta admit Reid, we got you good." Garcia beamed.

"I...yes, yes, you got me." He sighed. "It was your idea wasn't it Morgan."

"Yes it was Reid." Morgan chuckled, patting him on the shoulder. "Yes. It. Was."

A few weeks later, JJ, Prentiss, Morgan, and Garcia were in the elevator on their way up to the bau offices.

"No. No, you cheated Morgan." Garcia jabbed at the smiling young man.

"Come on Garcia, you know I don't cheat at poker. Now come on, you need to pay up."

"...dang you and your...profiling!" She snapped, shoving the fifty bucks into his hands.

"Oh come on, don't be mad at me baby doll." He chuckled, wrapping an arm around her shoulder warmly.

"Fine, but I still hate your profiling." She pouted.

"No I don't."

"Yes you do."

"No I don't!"

"Yes, you do."

"No I-" she was cut off when the elevator suddenly ground to a stop.

"Uh, I don't think that's supposed to happen." Garcia said quietly.

"No, no it's not..." Prentiss said, getting a little worried.

That was when the lights flickered, then went out completely.

"Morgan do you think you could hit the emergency button. Cause I think we're having an emergency." Garcia said, definite worry in her voice.

Morgan reached out and pressed the button, but nothing happened. That was when the elevator jerked slightly.

"Guys we need to get out of here." JJ said.

"I'm trying JJ, but it's not working." Morgan said, starting to get nervous himself.

The elevator jerked again, dropping a few inches this time.

"Emergency hatch!" Prentiss cried, pointing to the ceiling.

Morgan helped her up so that she could find the hatch.

"It's gotta be here..."

The elevator jerked again, causing Morgan and Prentiss to crash into the wall behind them.

"You gotta move faster Emily."

"I'm trying." She said as she found the latch. "I've got it!"

The hatch opened, Prentiss climbing up into the hatch.

"Come on guys!"

And that was when the lights came back on, the elevator going up a few inches, then the doors opening to reveal a laughing Spencer Reid.

"Reid?!" Garcia said, now looking ready to hit the young man.

"Yep. I tweaked the elevators computer." Reid snickered, trying hard not to laugh.

"For god's sake why?" Prentiss asked, now climbing down from the hatch.

"To teach you guys a lesson."

"What lesson?!"

Reid smirked, the expression reminding them of the looks that many serial killers have given them.

"Never. Mess. With. Spencer. Reid."
