A Warrior's Heart
Chapter 1 - A Fallen Race
Burning black smoke rose up into the sky and destroyed the sun's vision of the ground below. Trees had been disfigured and crippled by the raging fire spreading throughout the village. Corpses of warrior's littered the floor and blood stained the once luscious green grass transforming it into a blanket of sacrifice.
A beam of light pierced the sky and set down it's travellers. A man with blond hair, wielding a hammer, and another with raven hair and green eyes.
"What do you think happened here brother?" Thor asked.
"I am not sure, let's see if there are any survivors" Loki answered.
The two brothers split up hoping to cover more ground. Each brother checked every corpse they came across, all dead.
Thor had finished searching his area first, due to him being able to fly, and helped Loki with the rest of his.
The brothers were nearing to finish their mission when Loki heard a small moan. He scanned the area until he saw a young woman with a sword in her abdomen and barely breathing.
"Thor!" Loki exclaimed. "I found someone but she's barely breathing, we need to get her back to Asgard"
Thor nodded and shouted for Heimdall to bring back. Loki picked the woman up and rushed her over to the Healers, all the while healing her as best he could using his magic.
Thor quickly followed and explained to Odin and Frigga what him and Loki discovered.
After a few hours a medic approached the royal family and explained the situation. "She had a sword deep in her abdomen but we were able to remove it however, she lost a lot of blood. Had it not been for Prince Loki's healing she would of died. She is stable and should awaken in a few days"
Odin nodded his head dismissing the medic and turned to his sons. "Well done my sons, you have saved someone's life"
"Father, what was the planet you sent us to? I have never heard of it" Thor questioned.
"Neither have I" Loki added.
Odin sighed but it was not a sigh of anger or frustration but more closer to annoyance. "That planet was called Kedilerin, it is home to the Kedians and they were a race I had hoped to never see again"
This confused both brothers.
"Why?" Loki asked.
"This is not the right time to explain. For now we just need to keep an eye on this young Kedian you two saved"
And with that Odin dismissed them and the brothers knew better then to argue with the Allfather.
Frigga looked at Odin and sighed. "You should have told them"
"No, they will know when the time is right" Odin simply replied.
The fact that Odin didn't want to divulge much information on this race only made Loki more curious and want to find out everything he could about this woman and her planet.
