(Drink up baby down, ooh are you in or are you out?)

He paces his room. Should he go or not?

(Leave your things behind, 'cause it's all going off without cha.)

Azula stands in the doorway, taunting how Father likes her more so she can always go to meetings.

('Scuse me, too busy, you're writing your tragedies,)

Zuko protests, and slams the door on his sister.

"She may be right," He mumbles, "If I go Father may favor me more."

(These mishaps,

you bubble wrap

when you've no idea what youre like,)

He is quickly prepared for the war council, and is about to step into the room when his uncle stops him,

"Prince Zuko, are you sure you want to do this?" He asks skeptically

(So let go, let go,)

"Yes, Uncle! I know Father will like me if I do this."

(Jump in,)

"Fire Lord Ozai is not a forgiving man," He pleads, "

(Oh well, watcha waitin' for?)

"Uncle, please! I know what I'm doing!" He cries, and motions for the guards to open the brass doors.

(It's alright, cause there's beauty in the breakdown.)

The stubborn prince takes a deep breath and steps into the council.

([Let go] You let go,

Jump in,

Oh it's so amazin' here)

A surprised Fire Lord greets his son kindly, glad that he has finally chosen to continue his legacy.

(It's alright,

"Perhaps he will be my predesesscor after all," He thinks quietly, but the thought washes away when he looks at Azula.

Cause there's beauty in the breakdown,)

The meeting drawls on and Zuko tries to listen intently to impress Father. Finally, Azula's plan to dominate the Earth Nation is told.

(It gains the more it gives,)

Zuko is horrified by his sister's coldness.

"Father, there must be another way! We cannot just crush these people's hopes for power!" he begs,

(And then it rises with the fall,)

Ozai looks to his son angrily, not seeing Azula's smirk.

(So hand me that remote,

can't you see that all that stuff's a sideshow?)

"How dare you speak out in my council room?" he demands,

(Such boundless pleasure,

We've no time for later now,

You can't wait,

You roll your eyes we've twenty seconds to comply!)

"Father, I did not mean to-" he pleads,

(So let go,

let go,

jump in,

oh well watcha waiting for?

It's alright,

Cause there's beauty in the breakdown!)

"You shall be taught to keep your mouth shut. Tonight, you will face me in an Agnai Kai! This evening, in the Royal Arena." He decides,

His son runs out of the room, fighting back tears as he goes past Iroh.

"Prince Zuko, wait!"

The Prince sits down at a bench, and in a flurry of anger, sets a tapestry on fire. Guards quickly set the blaze out and scurry away.

"I spoke out," He sniffles, "And Father has challenged me to an Agnai Kai."

Iroh's eyes widen. Who knew he was that cold?

"Come, Prince Zuko, we must prepare you." He says quickly, and rushes him off to the training grounds.

(So let go,

let go,

Just get in,

Oh its so amazing here,

It's all right, cause there's beauty in the breakdown.)

The time had come. Zuko comes into his side of the arena, repeating the words over and over.

(Mmm, the breakdown...)

"Bow," He says to himself, "Step back, Duck left..."

His father gets into a stance, and as Zuko looks into his eyes, his brain shuts down.

(So amazing here...)

"Left, left!" Iroh calls,

Zuko desperately tries to move, but his body is frozen.

With a loud yell, Ozai sent the blast of black fire towards him.

(It's alright, cause there's beauty in the breakdown.)

"Left!" His mind urges. Zuko's eyes widened as darnkess surrounded him.
