An emotion she realized she had not felt in a long time. You see, April had lived in an orphanage all of her life She was told that her parents were " mysteriously" killed in a "boating accident" But she knew better. Her parents weren't killed in a very normal way. An extremely powerful wizard murdered her parents. She had read all about it. And now she had a letter from a witchcraft and wizardry school to prove it. She also knew the following things, and kept running through them in her head. The first thing was that she must have had parents that were a Witch and Wizard because she received her letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry when she was only 9 years old. Therefore, she received a special letter. Here it is: Miss. AprilSummerwind, We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and wizardry. Please note that most students are only accepted when they are age 11, but our headmaster, Professor Albus Dumbledore, has decided to accept you at the age of 9.Enclosed in the a letter is a list, which lists all of the supplies. Sincerely, Minerva McGonagall Deputy Headmistressof Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. What April could not figure out was why, if only her parents were murdered, why was she living in an orphanage. Shouldn't she be living with her aunt and uncle? Or grandparents? Or someone! She knew that someone in her family must be alive. Somewhere. The next month passed quickly. At the end of August, she left the orphanage to walk to King Cross station with her school supplies, which she had purchased about a week before, byy herself, of course/ She reached the station, and was shocked to see that her ticket said " Platform 9 ¾ She heard a family going by, saying, "Every year, why are there so many muggles?" :Isn't that a wizarding word?" she wondered out loud. She decided to follow the family.

She watched as the family walked between 2 platforms, and, somehow, walked straight into the wall! She looked at a boy with a lightening shaped scar and and messy black hairnervously. The boy asked, "Is this your first time to Hogwarts?" April nodded nervously. "Don't worry," he said, " This is only my second year. You have to walk right towards that wall. Okay?" April nodded, and walked towards the wall. She went right through, and there was a huge train that said " Hogwarts Express." In amazement, She boarded the train, and stepped into the first compartment that was open. She took a book from her bag, and began to read. A girl with busy hair although, quite pretty in April's opinion peered into April's compartment. " Can I sit here, please?" she Questioned. "Sorry, but everywhere else is full." April nodded her head shyly. " Thanks", said the bushy haired girl. April shyly looked out the window, then returned to her book. The bushy haired girl said" So, my name is Hermione Granger. Who are you?" " I'm.. I'm.," she stuttered. " My name is April. April Summerwind." " Oh! Are you the new student? You know, the one Professor Dumbledore told me about? He said you were only 9!
