I just felt like it, plus Riku of Darkness is a really great writer, so I thought what the hell? - and started typing. Kissing the Rain

Holding out for something better in this world.-

Just one slip…just one mistake…just one more chance…and his nightmare would end. It'd crossed his mind before, sure, but never like this. Never in his life had he ever felt more hopeless. So he jumped.

It was all to be classified as an easy mistake but as he looked down he saw the one reason why he'd jumped in the first place. That hopelessly familiar Nobody glared back up at him. As he wrapped his hand around the keyblade, Oblivion and glanced at Roxas as he passed by, a thought struck his mind.

It was odd, he was holding Oblivion, a keyblade based on the darkness its self, almost as a coincidence he was the darkness. And Roxas, Sora's Nobody, was holding Oathkeeper- a keyblade meant for the light and friendship and trust and as always it was what he was against.

So the one reason why he'd actually jumped in the first place was for Sora, so he could wake up from "sleeping" as Diz had classified it as. It was a last minute thought that he might not actually win and be defeated that had crossed his mind before. And surprisingly that didn't scare him, what scared him was that a part of him wanted it. A part of him wanted to fade away.

As he landed, back to back with Roxas, he turned and blocked an attack. The force knocked him back and as he tried to steady himself he tripped backward and landed in a puddle made by the rain. – It seems to rain everyday. – As he sat there soaked to the bone, his silver hair sticking to his skin but still falling over his eyes and his vision faded by the blindfold wrapped around him, he asked, or rather yelled to the Nobody.

"Why…Why do you have the keyblade!" Roxas snarled back at him,

"Shut up!" he threw himself forward, bringing the Keyblade in front of himself just as Riku brought up Oblivion. –Or maybe this is the rain?

Maybe everyday was the rain….not physically water plummeting from the clouds, but every word, memory, or fight he remembers that hurt him…

Like when he was just a puppet, or at least that was all Maleficent and Ansem referred to him as. Everyday he'd realize his mistake even more, and everyday the rain got harder and harder to deal with. Everyday the darkness would try to take him further in.

He pushed back with all his force this time, and Roxas went flying. He hit the ground with a hard thud, rendering him unconscious as his head was thrown back and hit the ground.

Riku pulled himself up and suddenly realized, - Every time I get hurt- he started walking over to Roxas- the rain hurts a thousand times worse, because I'm against it.- he knelt down next to the unconscious Nobody, and as he pulled him up and leaned him up to carry him over his shoulder. –But what if…- He could hear the steady breathing of the nonexistent creature- I embraced it?-

So from then on, he may have faded back to the darkness, but instead of hurting from the constant steady flow of the rain, he embraced it. He knew then that he would forever be Kissing the Rain.

- With no light, and no meaning.
