Who's the Best?
A Percy Jackson Fanfiction (Oneshot. More like a long headcannon really)
All characters belong to Rick Riordan
"Clearly it's me," Piper said. Jason nodded in agreement. And Frank. And Hazel. And Nico. And Leo. And Annabeth. And Percy. Wait, no. That's not right.
"That's not fair. You can't use charmspeak," Leo protested. "Anyway, everyone knows that I'm really the best."
"Haha you wish repair boy," Jason smirked. "When was the last time you could summon lightning at will?"
"When was the last time you discovered a bunker that no one had been in for years and then used it to build a giant warship?" Leo fired back.
"When was the last time you became praetor of the twelfth legion?"
"When was the last time you tamed a giant metal dragon?"
"When was the last time you-"
"Hey! Stop it!" Nico butted in. "You guys are fine and all but I don't recall you ever raising armies of the dead.
"Oh, shut it Death Breath," Piper said. Nico immediately snapped his mouth closed. "Without me most of you would be dead."
"Um, I would just like to say that pretty much as soon as I found out I was a demigod I had to go on a quest. With no training," Percy said pointedly. "And so I journeyed to the underworld where I barely escaped the clutches of death after which I defeated the god of war at age twelve. Just the next year I traveled where not even the bravest of demigods would travel. After defeating a giant cyclops I brought home the golden fleece and saved the entire camp. Then my girlfriend was kidnapped and since no one else would I crossed the country to save her and before I got home I had held the weight of the sky, fought an almost titan, and landed on an inescapable island. Then, after attending my own funeral, I traveled through the labyrinth, watched a god die, and battled an entire army. Then at just age sixteen I had to fight a war against my ex best friend before which I took a bath in the river styx. Shall I continue or can we just all agree that I win?"
Annabeth smiled at him. "No, actually. I believe that I win. I endured six months of having no idea where you were. I didn't even know if you were alive. I searched for you endlessly it seems. And here I am, still alive. That would be why I win."
The rest of the seven (and Nico) just glared at Percy and Annabeth. "Showoffs," Leo muttered. Annabeth just laughed.
