Audrey thought it was stupid. She had dated (the perfect, way more charming than Chad) Ben, and no one had come up with cute couple name for them. Not that Bal sounded cute or anything, 'cause it didn't. It was just stupid. Ridiculous. She wasn't jealous of their totally not adorable couple moments that they seemed to share all the time. She didn't internally squeal even a little when Ben asked Mal to Prom(in an adorable, over-the-top promposal that got the purple-haired daughter of Maleficent blushing to her toes and on the brink of tears). She wasn't part of their fan club at all(although they did receive tons of anonymous pictures to add to the ever-growing Bal scrapbook).
Audrey was most definitely, not at all, a fan girl of this popular ship.
Okay, maybe a little(but don't tell!).
To tell the truth, she actually got a date with Chad to help Evie out. She knew about the fact that Doug liked her. She also knew that Chad was a horrible person Evie didn't deserve. A small part of her wondered whether she did, but she was a super mean person(as was painted on her walls), so yes she did deserve him. She deserved his sexist views and forced make outs and everything else she hid beneath dresses that couldn't ride up as fast as tops.
Some days, a nicer, less-likely-to-abuse-her guy would flirt with her. She'd stomp on their feelings with harsh rejection that left her crying in her room. No guy would risk themselves a second time. Not until Jay. And probably it was because he was stubborn(but she really hoped he was hoped he saw past fake smiles too). After a week she was sure he would give up, but as she was now learning, bad-boy Jay didn't give up. He asked her every day to the discouraging looks of his friends, and she always said no. Then one day, as she cried in a cupboard, he was there, and she was hugging him and telling him everything. And the next day, she was breaking up with Chad, and the day after that he had a huge black eye. And she wasn't afraid of wearing shirts that rode up anymore. People, nice people like Evie, who actually shared a lot of similarities with her, made friends with her. She could ship Bal in public. She even apologized to Ben. And Evie. And everyone else.
