I tried to explain the history of our people to our human friends. Julia and Emery were intent, listening to every word with rapt attention. Lukas seemed to be more concerned to recorded it on this webcam, although he swore he'd not post it on his blog site. I hoped he'd hold true to his word.

"A millions of years ago, we evolved along what is called the Straight Sea: a body of water that divided the northern continents from the southern.

There is some debate as to whether it was the northern side or southern. Drake scoffed at that comment; different points of view as written by which side of the sea you grew up on, I suppose," I was saying.

"Most say it was the southern, but we've Palaeolithic artifacts on the northern reaches as well as in the southern, (and that obviously predates the first ships), so therein lies the debate. The most intriguing are faces carved into rocks that face to the sea and huge monoliths that the Cæveh called 'marking stones' along the cliffs and beaches – that supposedly marked a boundary of their lands. The Vwasak had huge monoliths that served as fire alters.

For 10,000 years, the Cæveh lived on the northern coast, and the Vwasak, Drake's tribe, on the southern. Oddly, the Zwahan lived in the lower hemisphere of our planet, mostly along the coasts living in lagoons, rivers, and bayous during our Palaeolithic age, and the Swamad in the fertile plains along the great rivers.

During ourEpipaleolithic people of the tribes spread, and by the mesolithic the tribes formed:

The Swamad left the Zwahan and moved into the fertile plains and forests along the great rivers – some moved east and settled in the jungles and swamps of East Masiga. They'd eventually become the Iwabas.

The Zæsak, those tired of the feuding wars moved away to Rimjiour – the continent west of the ranges and the islands of the north. Likewise my people, the Sævad, moved to the high reaches, the Pæmegor mountain ranges, an area of land about the size of the US.

Our Dævas lived on the plateau, which are not flat, but is where the the Gwiazhds are – the seven great lakes also called The Seven Sisters, and the Gwyzna – the three freshwater emhorze or seas.

We called ourselves the Tgorasad.

The Itrejivil were the southern tribes.

The Vwasak on the north of the great southern continent, of course. The Zwahan, were mostly the fishermen, nautical, lived mostly on the west of the great southern continent and Masiga the southwest one. Iwabas lived here, in the jungles and swamps and area the size of Asia, and this large dark area is the home of the Swamad, the agricultural tribe.

In 800kt, the Cæveh and the Vwasak began to fight each other over control of the Straight Sea. Drake rolled his eyes.

I'm simplifying. If they want a full history of Atria, I'll ask one of my elders to teach a class. The book would be seven times the size of our US history book."

"Try twelve volumes and each one twice as thick," Drake said, and I smiled.

I nodded. "The wars were brutal, both were fierce fighters. In 300kt, the Cæveh divided, the elderly, women and children moved north, into the Sævad and Dævas territories. The Dævas didn't' like it very much, but my people didn't mind, we actually got on all right: We lived in the mountains, in caverns and tunnels, the Cæveh preferred the valleys and we actually developed trade with them. But the Dævas chased them out an back to their own lands. That was the supposed Northern War."

"WE wiped the Cæveh off the face of the planet," Drake said.

'No, the Cæveh living with the Sævad not only survived – they flourished – they did eventually take back their lands in 200kt.

Drakes eyebrows rose. "It was the the Sævad, not Cæveh that attacked us."

I shook my head. "We were allies, we fought with them, as did the Zæsak, but no, we fought to restore the Cæveh their lands." "And by that time the northern tribes had formed an alliance, eventually becoming the Tgorasad."

"Only the animosity between the Cæveh and the Vwasak raged for a thousand years," I said. Then continued my story.

"Now about a thousand years ago, we had the Great World War, and the territories were mapped out and defined once again. The Cæveh lands were denoted as belonging to the Sævad, and the Cæveh were okay with that as long as the Zæsak helped protect their boarders. Zæsak considered it an honor and set up bases all along the Cæveh coasts. That treaty, the Atrian treaty, stood for centuries."

I ignored Drake's roll of his eyes.

"The southern tribes are the Itrejivil. A name we, Tgorasad only adopted under the treaty formed by Jadex II, Roman's great grandfather. Nox was going to honor the old alliance and the treaty; it's why we are here with him on this search for a new colony."

I tried to write it out on the viewer, projecting it was a time table:

Itrejivil Iksen, Roman's line ––––– Tgorasad Iksen, my line

Draje – 4-great grandfather –––––

Jedax I – thrice great grandfather ––––– Trejan my 4-greats grandfather/ Nedra and Bredin my thrice great grandfather and grandmother.

"Jedax came up to the high reaches. His hope was to unite the people. It was the first time a honor treaty was considered," I stated.

"He was abducted and held hostage for a year," Drake said.

"He was an honored guest! I have pictures of him and Nedra and Bredin's child playing with a toy!" I told him, astounded that they still thought we'd abducted their heir apparent. I turned to our friends. "He was amazing, like your Mandela of South Africa – he lived with us for over a year; every step he took was recorded, the speeches he made were carved word for word on walls that became tributes, a monument was erected in his honor. I wanted to walk his path, but I was too little – there was a section of it, I walked once. We have a rock where stood to talk about peace. He is my hero – I know I never can come close to be as he was, but I strive to be like him. We lit fires the burned for a year after he was made Iksen, a symbol of the hope we shared."

He was obviously surprised by this, but I continued.

"He died after only three years, seven months and nineteen days after ascending to Iksen. My people wore white for three years, seven months and nineteen days in honor of him. We still lite candles and bonfires on the day of his death and wear white in his honor."

Sedran – great, great grandfather ––––– Nepred – "He was stricken with infirmary that left his body a living decay. His wife was insemination with his sperm, but the southern tribes never acknowledge the birth – hence the Second World War," I explained.

Jedax II – great grandfather ––––– Nejeda – my great grandmother – was born from insemination married a Zæsak

Jhax – grandfather––––– Nedex

Nox – father ––––– Nehreen – my mother

Roman – the hope of his people ––––– And now me.

"We used to call Nox, the hope of the people, now the title is used for Roman," I said, hoping it was true.
